The Danelectro set says Long Scale and I've never tried them.

I'm interested in purchasing a black long-scale 59 DC (preferably w/ a darker fretboard)

Wise move. I asked my luthier to keep the stock strings in the case after setting up my short-scale 59 DC and adding the La Bella flats

I have a Jerry Jones single cut short scale bass. I have it wired in series without the 3 way switch and I'm using D'Addario XL's and its thumpy and funky and everything in between based on the tone knob setting. The pickups are set about 2/32 which seems close but it really brought out the tone with no audible side effects. I play with my thumb or with a Clayton Phat-Tone rubberized pick. I tried GHS Precision Flats which are smooth and deep but I found I missed the character of a roundwound - Labellas seem to have more character than the GHS - anybody compared the 2 on their Dano?

Which set?

What are LTFs ? DTFs (Deep Talkin' Flats) are the 760FD and other 760F_ sets.

Edit: oh. LTF=Low Tension Flats. I've never tried those. I think they wouldn't work for the music i play.

Dear Dano-Club-Users,

A few days ago a bought my first Danelectro Bass, a '63 longscale. It was/is in great condition and it was really cheap - so I bought it. I have an Danelectro Guitar for years my go to guitar at home. But to be honest with you, I don't like the longscale neck on that tiny body. I love the sound of the lipstick-pickups and always loved the feel of Dano-Necks (Guitar and Bass as well). And since I am a huge Jack Bruce fan I needed a Dano Bass real bad. Normaly in the Rock-Trio I play an old 80s Aria medium scale bass.

Long story short ;) ...I just ordered a Dano DC shortscale bass in copper. If I am lucky it will be here tomorrow. And I will give you an update.

It is not a black finish, it is the sunburst finish - and it is in Germany.

I am really looking forward to the new DC Shortscale. Although I am not sure about the beck position for a shortscale.

I ll give you an update.

But, yes I'd like to sell the 63 longscale bass.

Hello Germany from Chicago!

My Oma (Montabaur) and Opa (Solingen) met on the boat from Deutschland to the USA in the late '30's, fell in love, got married, and started our family in Chicago!
