Anagram is only dirty if you make it sound that way. The starting sound is completely neutral. My use case for it is completely clean except for one footswitch which enables a pretty chill instance of a B3K.

Is it possible to add some ambiance with a reverb block? I find with the FM3, it's absolutely necessary to add a touch of room on both bass and guitar.
Yep! There are room, plate and shimmer reverb types. For my taste the room block is the most useful, although the shimmer has some fun creative uses that are comparable to my old Strymon Blue Sky. The room block is quite useful with excellent options to make it bass-usable.

I have been using the GT1000core for a few years. I just got an Anagram a few weeks ago and I do not regret getting it.
The the blocks in the signal chain are reserved for certain effects, for example, there are 4 delay blocks and you can only use them for delay.
There are dedicated distortion and chorus blocks, but the options there are not very good for bass. There are more and better options in the general FX blocks.
There are only 3 general FX blocks, but to make the GT1000core really shine, you need to use one of those effect blocks for a Mastering Effect, so that means you only have 2 effects blocks.
You mentioned the UI. Yes, there is a real learning curve to the GT1000core. I found that I also had to use a MIDI controller to be able too use the GT1000core live.
With the Anagram these are no longer a concern. Everything about it is superior and it DOES very well with clean sounds.
Don't get me wrong, the GT1000core is a very good unit and one I got used to how to use it, I really didn't have many complaints, but, as I said, the Anagram is far superior in most respects to the GT1000core for bass.

Picked up the Anagram today. This is my take coming from an FM3:
PLUS +++ IMO:
- The size is hilarious, see attached. I opened the case (very nice btw) and laughed out loud. Can't believe how small this is compared to the FM3.
- User interface is beyond intuitive. I was holding down/pressing/turning things and it all just worked. I did not go through the demo. It's all very clever and logical.
- Pleased to see that I can control the gain/distortion with the volume on my bass. Excellent.
- I'm VERY happy I got this instead of the B7K. I tried the B3K as well as the AO and did not like them at all. I really like the VMT, MTX, Chinchilla, Entropia, Bee, Green, and possibly my favorite so far is the Sansamp. Wow it sounds good in here.
- Touch screen is nicer than expected. Seems like an OLED. Refresh rate is pretty rough but hey not expecting 120hz on something like this hah. To be 100% honest I really prefer all hardware controls. I'm already terrified about dropping a cable or something on this screen. Think I'll be ordering one of those magnetic plexi covers.
- Compared to the FM3, boot up time, and firmware update time... incredible. Probably had the FW updated in the same amount of time it took the FM3 to boot up haha. The FM3 firmware update is my only complaint about these units. There are many many steps, and it's not always clear which procedures you have to follow to get the latest changes on your presets. I've gotten to the point where I just redo all my presets when major changes come out (I've only got a few so nbg). Just remember to always RANF.
- No drivers or computer weirdness. Just install the app and it connected right away. Also was in the middle of testing presets and got a popup "there is a new version of the editor". Very nice. No futzing around on the download page or firmware utility.
MINUS --- IMO:
- Onboard presets, meh. Same with the FM3. Nothing special to me there. Instantly better results making my own.
- Would have preferred a 1/4" headphone jack as everything else I have uses 1/4", no biggie. Maybe it could have been on the front with a pop out volume control?
- Can't get into the volume control when you are adjusting a block. Would have loved dedicated volume controls like on the FM3, maybe something that can be mapped to always do volume (prob not possible with the current hardware). The presets/some of the blocks are not volume matched. Already got a few that were too loud and triggered my tinnitus to speak up.
- None of the amps seem to have built in distortion, I guess they are expecting you to pull up a pedal block. I know some of the amps in real life can coax out a bit of dirt but these these ones are all pretty clean.
- Tuner is bit slow and jumpy for me. LB100 with flats in drop D. Kind of struggled with the low string. I'll give it a try with harmonics next time.
- Kind of seems like it's just the three buttons. Press to toggle scenes like the FM3 has would be a great addition, unless it's already there and I didn't see it.
Questions:
- Am I losing it, or is there no way to create a patch on the computer? Looks like I can edit parameters of existing blocks if they are already there, but can't make presets?
- Is there a way to zoom out the view so you can see all of the rows/blocks at the same time? I think I would prefer tiny blocks, vs having to scroll around.
- How is there no power button on this? I see there is a standby mode... I don't need to do any fancy shutdown process eh, Just unplug it?

You can just unplug the unit. No need to worry about damaging anything.
As of now, the main use of the Darkglass Suite is to host and share presets, but has no editing capabilities.
You can see more of its uses here:
1. No, you are not losing it. The Darkglass Suite is EXTRERMELY basic from an Anagram functionality at this time. Currently, it is really just for firmware updates, backing up your Presets, downloading Presets from Preset Hub, etc. Really basic stuff. It's just a time/priority thing. We're assuming the DG Suite will become useful for Preset editing and overall Anagram config down the track.
2. No. As per above, really hoping that down the track an updated version of the DG Suite will make complex Preset editing where you really want to see all slots/rows much easier. For now, lots of scrolling on the screen on your Anagram. Oh, and you have to learn how to 'flick' scroll without selecting a block and moving it
3. Why do you need a power button? In all seriousness, for those coming from devices with a power button (usually much larger and more space for one) it does seem weird. You do get used to it. Just unplug it, same as power button and perfectly safe. That's one less component on the board and one less thing they have to make room for on the back panel, etc.

Alright spent about an hour with the Anagram this am and really digging it. I think the only thing it's missing is a "woody" sounding amp, something like a B15. I'm sure there are more amps on the way so I'll keep an eye out.

One question though. It seems all of the knobs are pretty tight except the first one. It comes on and off quite easy. I was pressing the first knob to engage/disengage a block and all of a sudden it stopped working. I pulled it up a little bit and it started working again, but quickly bottoms out after a few presses. I removed the knob and it seems the inside at the top is hollowed out, probably why it's bottoming out on the case. I checked the other knobs (all much harder to remove), and they don't bottom out when they are fully seated. Just the first one.
Anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement knob (I'm in Canada)? Maybe I could put a bit of tin foil or something similar in the bottom to take up some space. Bummer to see these are plastic on the inside. Guess if there is a knock it's better for the plastic knob to break vs the pot itself.

As Ivan and others have mentioned, an email to Darkglass with the serial number will get you replacement knobs with longer plastic inserts to raise the knobs a bit to prevent bottoming out. They respond very promptly and are a great help. It easily took care of that issue.

Okay heard back from Korg, they asked for a bunch of info and my sales receipt. Seems good so far.
Anyway, ran the Anagram through both my Everse 8 (with amp/cab) and my Traynor SB115 (just pedals). Through the E8 it was kinda meh. Defiantly need to spend some time dialing things in. I was not planning to run it through this on a regular basis just wanted to see how it sounded. Through the SB115 however, wow! excellent. Every flavor of dirt I can imagine and it translates pretty well. The Entropa sounds especially excellent through the Traynor. Very balanced and clear. The Rat is outstanding as well. I've gone through a few different rat pedals and this is pretty close to the sound I've been looking for.
So far so good. I was shopping for new amps/basses/pedals/pickups, and I think this might have solved all of my problems. With some low end control and EQ, I was able to get my SB115 much louder than when I was just running pedals through it.
I don't think it offers as true of a representation of my instrument as the FM3, but it's a heck of a lot of fun in a much smaller form factor.
