Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

I can't lie. That's a big part of why I'm all in on this. I have been literally waiting decades for a manufacturer to embrace us bass players like this.
This is not the first bass centric pedalboard made. Not only there have been and there are several others around, but talking about pro level bass centric processors, there was the huge Roland VB-99 from around 2008. The Darkglass is a modern approach to that (but no bass sims nor independent strings processing so the VB in my opinion was even braver as product). So I believe these 2, albeit different, are today the only pro level bass centric processor made (and I own both 😀).

Does DG have guitar amps? Nope.
Why does this make sense?

I think it’s okay for a company to specialize products for a segment, vs diluting like many others have. I would agree with the previous post, let’s appreciate that their focus is on bass.
The fact that they specialize in bass put them apart already. As said in the prior post, the last processor I purchased before the Anagram was the Roland VB-99 (and in the between a Boss GT90B, which was a toy). I am not going to spend a grand or more for gear with 90% of sounds/features tailored on guitarists. Marco clearly said that Anagram is a platform so that every musician can shape it based upon the instrument played, and that is CEO wordings aiming at increasing sales (where the mass is). But I hope that they will never loose their primary selling point, which is to think about us bassists like others (almost) never did before. I buy bass gear when someone think about us as bassists, while jack of all trades processors who dedicate some sound to us as a niche don’t get my money. I bought the Anagram 5 minutes after I discovered it and fully support this strategy aiming at getting big shares of a small market segment instead of getting micro shares of a huge market segment hoping that such micro shares grow. Then, if the platforms explodes so that all musicians can use it with their specialiased sounds/apps whatever, then great, and Darkglass could (should) always guarantee great material for bassists even if that would mean investing in such development themselves.

Was playing around on the marketplace and clicked the Try button for a paid effect and it activated a trial. Is there a time limit on the trial? Is it that the block is only available for a couple days or is the block only active for 2 minutes before it turns itself off?

Curious because I don't want to start the clock by activating a trial before I have time to sit down and test.

I say it in the overview video, but a trial last indefinitely, but it allows you to play with a 5 second gap every 30 seconds.

totally cool update! tried uploading few free stuff on my anagram and one trial - no issues there. i'll try them later..
just a note - if you are on win machine and using a Microsoft store version - it is not showing marketplace to me. the version you download and install manually worked fine..

It is being certificated on the Microsoft store. It usually took a few hours to a day

@IvanBassist Just wanted to give you and the team a standing ovation for the continued innovation around the Anagram. I know there is so much more to come, but it's just been a really rewarding experience to own an Anagram and play with it live as well as creatively alone or with my band. The marketplace is going to open a new world to so many of us in different ways. I hope the community at large will join me in asking Ivan to pass along a very large thank you and so much respect to the creatives, engineers, and musicians who brought this device to life and continue to iterate it, often. Cheers to the entire team!

Hi and thanks for this marketplace and for being able to test the effects. I don't know what other people think, but couldn't we try the effects for a limited time and not with such frequent sound interruptions? I don't know if that's possible?

New marketplace is exciting, and a great initial offering. The blocks by Cognate, Clack Digital, Nembrini, and Fine Classics are standouts to me, gotta prioritize which ones to buy first!

@IvanBassist I know it's been asked in the past, but now that the marketplace is out: is there a resource for developers who are interested in adding to the marketplace? I have done very little in the way of plugin development, but it's definitely something I wanted to explore more.
