Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

Am I right in my understanding that footswitch A can control a stomp/scene AND also serve as the tuner on/off via press and hold? In other words, you don't need to sacrifice a footswitch to have easy access to the tuner... right?

You can long press switch A and bring up the tuner, regardless of the mode. In tuner mode switch B toggles mute and the switch C is tap tempo. Tapping switch A again exits.

I was unaware of the tap and hold for the tuner if it’s assigned a different effect. My presets make use of all 3 foot switches in stomp mode to turn effects on and off.
So even though an effect is assigned to footswitch A, I can hold it down for the tuner?

Trying this portable configuration powered with a USB c power brick. It's been 80 minutes and still standing.

Power Calculation:

  • Anagram draw: 9V at 2A = 18W
  • Battery capacity (Anker 20,000mAh at 3.7V):
    20,000mAh × 3.7V = 74Wh
(actual usable power is typically ~85% of this due to conversion losses)So, usable energy: ~63Wh
  • Runtime estimate:
    63Wh ÷ 18W = ~3.5 hours

I haven't seen anything that says this feature is coming, but maybe I've just missed it. Does anyone know if power over midi cable is something that will be implemented in the anagram, or if it is capable of it? Being able to power a midi selector with the unit could be a super valuable function.

My Midi Switch has a battery without battery (I really don´t know the english word - like a Power Bank).
You can load it via USB C.

As I tested if there is a Midi connection possible between USB of the Anagram and my Midi switch, the Midi switch charged while plugged in the USB of the Anagram.

@ all Anagram owners: do any of you plan to try creating NAM models of your amps in order to use them with Anagram?

Although I don't have the Anagram (maybe one day), I'm interested in the NAM technology, but there are not many bass models available on Tone3000 currently, mostly guitar amps. But I imagine Anagram could make the NAM technology more popular among our community, and maybe motivate some of us to create our own models (and share them… or not).

I've got a few amps and preamps I'd like to try to capture (I'll be using the models in my DAW mostly), so I thought maybe we could create a thread dedicated to this topic "capturing bass amp models with NAM", in order to share our experience and help each other.

Anyone interested?

I’d love to make a NAM of my Mesa D800+… don’t know the process, yet, but will learn to do it for sure. I’ll likely do my TH700 too. If anyone has tips, please post them 😃 I’ll share them once I’ve created them.

I'd love the Anagram to drive our community to make more captures! I'd encourage anyone to give it a crack.

I had a crack at recording a NAM of my DCX Bass a couple of weeks ago - (and wait for it) - NAMs of my favourite Tonex captures, since I had to sell my Tonex One to afford the Anagram  The NAMs of my Tonex captures worked out really well! Captured a Human Gear Animato pedal for our band's Starlight cover, and a few GK rigs.

My DCX Bass captures: Origin Effects DCX Bass NAM Profile · TONE3000

The process was straightforward enough for me to figure out in a day or so of fiddling, and I have pretty much zero experience with DAWs. I borrowed a friends audio interface. I didn't have a reamp box. I still think it worked out ok, but I am aware that levels aren't perfect in my captures (I need to boost gain by about 3 or 4 db in Anagram to get it matching the pedal 1:1) - but that's just experience I think.

I found these tutorials super helpful:

Would be awesome to see some community engagement, and making some captures is definitely on my radar at some point in the future.

For the lols, I've set up a spreadsheet --> HERE <-- for folks to put in capture requests. Who knows... someone may happen to have that particular bit of kit and the ability to create one.

Had my first Anagram rehearsal yesterday.
It was really really good - at the end.
My Home dialed Tone was not working, it was too bassy and had almost no highs. Fortunately I found a B7K NAM which just crisps the sound but has plenty of highs. Fits perfect.
AND I really had to boost the levels of the Peggy and my IR, because the signal was really really low.

I wonder if the DG developers are searching the Interweb for threads like this to get feedback to make the unit better.

Can you talk a bit more about this? The home vs rehearsal bit makes sense, but I'm curious to understand what a B7K NAM brings that a B3K and EQ block wouldn't. What does your chain look like?

Time effectiveness under pressure :roflmao:
I had a B3K in there which did not help. Instead of adding an EQ I scrolled through the NAM Pedals and changed the Sansamp to a B7K which sounded immediately better.

At the End it was
Luminal > Harmonic Booster > (Rusty Box) > B7K > Peggy > > Gentle > Noise Surpressor > IR > HPF > LPF
I tried deactivate some of the blocks but it didn´t help. Even deactivated the Low Boost on the Peggy which I usually love.
