Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

Just checking to see if this is normal behavior - when you engage the ultra low on the peggy, does your signal drop in volume considerably? I know its boosting only the sub lows, but when i turn that on, the entire peggy block just drops in volume. Turn it off and everything jumps back up. I most likely wont need this function, but since just started messing around with the amp blocks, I wasn't sure if this was normal or not.

Will also happily defer to others with better info, but as I understand things, it has to do with low frequencies needing more power to recreate than higher frequencies. Since you have a fixed amount of power, adding more lows necessarily takes power away from other frequencies, hence the volume drop. Given this, I'd say it is fairly accurate to real world behavior. I have a Broughton SV-PRE that does the same thing and I'm fairly sure that the SVT-CL at the practice space does the same (can check this weekend).

Ok, gotcha. Not an SVT guy so this was new for me. Thanks for the info.

It could also boil down to a change in an EQ curve that helps accentuate low end by subtracting a good bit of everything else to make the low end bigger. I remain content to be educated by those wiser, but that seems a reasonable ballpark for explanation.

looking to get a power supply for my anagram + (cali76 and shure) looks like a cioks (DC7, SOL) would work with a triple cable.
I have a Cioks DC10 and Cioks Adam but i think these dont have enough mA per output? most are 100 with a couple at 400
I'm using mine with either a 2A 9V center-negative wall wart power supply if I only bring Anagram, or with a Cioks Hi5 Mod if I bring my pedalboard. The Hi5 Mod is similar to the Sol in that when set to 9V it has 660mA of current available per tap. Using a West Coast Pedalboard current tripler cable I can reliably power Anagram without issue despite being 20mA short of the specified power requirement.

Would you mind sharing which wall wart you are using? My stock PS seems to introduce a bit of noise into the signal that my Cioks doesn't. I do want to find a suitable replacement as I plan on just bringing the Anagram for a couple of fly dates and not bring the full board/Cioks.

I was using the factory power supply but when it's powering the system I get significant ground loop problems. I've since used a One Spot and despite only being rated at 1.7A it seems to work fine and doesn't introduce ground loop noises. I would recommend finding a good 2A power supply though, and this is a good reminder that I need to order one as well.

ok gotcha. I misunderstood and thought you were currently using a different 2A wall wart. The factory supply gives me issues as well. Good to know in a pinch, the One Spot will work.

Definitely intersted if anyone else has gone to a different 2A wall wart PS. I see a bunch on amazon but I'm not convinced that a IBERLS or an ALITOVE (who the heck are these companies?? ) will do the job.

I came to the same conclusion. The number of models at 2A gets quite limited and the brands are all unrecognizable to me. They're probably fine, but I'd prefer trusting my Anagram to a known company.

My lady shoots sports for a local TV station as a side gig, she just recommended checking Adorama or NewEgg. Totally forgot about both of those sellers. I'll report back if I find something suitable.

I'm based in the UK so use the 3 pin version of this Mooer power supply. I've bought and used one for the last 15 years and its still going strong. However "just in case" I decided to buy a back up last month

Search for Power suppy update... I called Adorama and B&H photo- Adorama had neither a 9V DC Center neg 2A supply or 12V supply available. B&H the same. I know these two high-end electronics stores dont carry everything but if they don't carry this type of PS.... really makes me question the ones on Amazon even further now. Looks like I'll just have to toss the Sol in my backpack and call it a day.

Better safe than sorry, I guess. I wouldn't be interested in finding out what a burnt Anagram smells like, either.

So after watching most of the Anagram videos I'm curious about how a lot of you are using this live if you are NOT using IEM's.. If you are running the anagram into the return of another amplifier, where do you put your amp blocks? First in the chain- efx and processing after, or at the end of the chain with all your processing in front (like you would with a traditional amp)? I've seen it done both ways when people are making a new preset, but that is typically through the anagram DI going into their interface on most of the videos- not for a live show. I've been successful bypassing the amp blocks altogether going in the front of an amp and using the anagram efx blocks as my "pedalboard", but I'm having some difficulty getting the tone I want using amp blocks through the return of another amp. Just looking for some ideas...

Most of my presets, which are each associated with a different group/band, are for use with IEMs. In all of those instances I want to be able to rehearse at home with the same settings I'll be using on gigs but don't want to do it via IEMs. To that end I stick a send block near the end of my chain that splits off output 3 (1/4") for use with my amp, and puts any amp and cab blocks I'm using after the split so that they only go to the XLR outputs. If it's a group/band that doesn't use IEMs, I just build the preset without a cab sim. The amp blocks are effectively just different EQs since they don't model any of the gain stages, only the tone stacks, and as such can live happily in front of a real amp just fine. The cab blocks, for me, are where things tend to get muddy when sending to a real amp.

I go bass, Anagram and then into the preamp of my bass amp. I use my Anagram more like a pedalboard at the moment with effects lined up as such. So far I havent found a need to add amps or cab blocks into my builds as my physical amp does the job for me.
I have tried adding amp and cab blocks but found a lot of them muddy the tone in different ways when run through my amp. I can certainly see them being useful either recording direct or using to get the sound in your IEM.

What’s wrong with your factory power supply?

Super noisy, feels like the signal is kinda weak, pretty much unusable as is. I tried putting my C4 after the Anagram and it wouldnt fly in any situation. When my Anagram is connected to my Sol or DC7 it's silent and very robust sounding.

I may have just gotten a dud PS.
