Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

Testing Hyper Luminal again today and I'm happy to report that I'm finally able to measure gain reduction from it. I don't know which version of the firmware resolved this issue, but my install is now functioning. I'll also state that it compresses pretty minimally when comparing 20:1 settings with other software and hardware compressors I have available, and it still likes a hot signal at input. To my ears it generally requires more heavy-handed settings than I would typically expect from a compressor and isn't capable of maximum squish if that's what you're going for. I never go for that kind of sound, so I'll close by saying that it does sound nice. I haven't decided if I prefer Hyper Luminal or Bus at this point.
To my ears the FET adds a color that the other compressors don’t quite do. I hear more harmonics and tone with the Luminal that I haven’t heard from the BUS. But it’s minimal and maybe in my head :P Or maybe from having to put such a high input but it not giving a squish, it’s bringing out a lot, not sure but sounds good to my ears!

Thinking about Making a Factory Reset and start from the beginning.
I have too much NAMs that I don’t use.
In fact I just use the Orange Ad200B Amp and Thats it.
Just download the AD200 NAMs. They sound great! Thanks for the suggestion!

Speaking of NAM, i just made some new B15 captures, now based on the 64 model. Great for P-bass grooves.

I downloaded a couple of public presets using the Darkglass Suite and they appear on the Preset Hub > Downloaded page, but I can't figure out how to install them as a user preset on my Anagram and there doesn't seem to be a user manual for the Suite. Guidance? Thanks!

Confession: I have been thinking the Pitch shifter sucks and is unusable. So I thought might as well try it with the looper and just playing something simple and the pitch shifter works great. The looper eliminates the sympathetic vibrations that I'm feeling from the body of the bass on my body and maybe even some sympathetic bone induction "hearing". Now that sounds like garbage. But if I just use the looper, that eliminates the sympathetic vibrations and my objections to the pitch shifter.

Guys, any suggestions how to get the bass synth sound from "Makes me wonder - maroon 5" on the Anagram? TY
It's a pretty straighforward suboctave fuzz and modulation sound. It's pretty squashed and gated. If you have no concerns over the number of blocks used, this is where I would start: Noise Supressor set to gate your bass and eliminate any ringing or after-note rattles. Hyper Luminal or Bus set with a fast attack and a slow release, relatively high ratio and 100% or near-100% blend. Sublime mostly if not fully the octave down tone. Duality or AO on the fuzzy/gated side of either with the gain set accordingly based on the output of your bass. Mint Chocolate set very modestly, both in terms of rate and depth. Noise Supressor after all of it to reinforce the gating if necessary. To accommodate the octave down, play all of the notes an octave higher than they're voiced. That should get you in the ballpark. I don't hear any envelope filtering on the recording, so that shouldn't be needed though you may want a fast instance of the Moog if it still sounds too much like a bass guitar and not like a synth. Careful use of high and low pass filters, and an EQ block after the effects may be needed to tailor everything.

Are we still doing numbers? Is that a thing now that the Anagram Club was folded into the main Darkglass Club?

Got my Anagram about a month ago, finally took it out to a gig. In rehearsal it sounded terrific—our band leader, who hates when I change equipment because he doesn’t like change AND who is slow to compliment anyone, said it sounded great and even texted later to say how pleased he was. The soundman loved it (I went direct from the XLR, no amp), audience members actually commented on the tone, and other musicians in the lineup wanted to know what the heck it was.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the stage setup, so all I have is a blurry pic our singer took during soundcheck:

Rig is basically the Anagram, a Graviton M2 MIDI pedal, and a Classic Audio expression roller. M2 is controlling preset switching on Anagram (which is in stomp mode) and tracks on an Oscillater Devices Minerva audio file player (underside of the board); the expression is going through the M2 to control the Minerva’s volume (when MIDI is fleshed out on the Anagram, I’ll be able to program the M2 to do different things with the expression roller depending on the song). Non-blurry pic of setup in rehearsal room here:

I contacted Darkglass to find out how to save a downloaded preset. The obscure trick is to select "Try This Preset" to install the preset on your device. You then need to save it, which I do by selecting the three-dot "kabob" menu in the upper-right corner and choosing Save (you'll need to retype the name, which also seems strange). Choosing "Download" in the Darkglass Suite simply adds the preset to the Downloads page. It does not download the preset to your device. You must use the "Try This Preset" command to actually install the preset on your device.

A bit off-topic here, but the Minerva looks like just what I've been searching for! Are you happy with it?

Yeah, as far as MIDI file players go, it’s pretty great once you get the hang of it—flexible options and it’s tiny. Before this combo I’d been using a MOD Dwarf (which is of course the father of the Anagram since DG bought their OS), and it had a file player built in as a plugin… gives me hope that Anagram could one day have the file player on board native. No reason that all of the open-source plugins on Dwarf can’t be part of the first major DSP expansion for Anagram.

The Minerva looks amazing!!

I’ll also be going off topic, but have you tried daisy chaining the Minerva power? I want to squeeze it on my board but my power supply outlets are totally allocated, so I’ll have to daisy chain it to fit
