Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

No such hiss with mine.
Think I solved it - i just checked the 1/4" out 3 going to my interface like i was going into the input of my amp - it silent there. it must be from the power here at home in the room my amp is located (older part of the house that wasn't remodeled before we moved in a while back). I'm not getting any noise at all with the 1/4" out through my interface.

EDIT: ok.. that didnt solve it. If i run bass straight into amp, no hiss. Even in that older room. Add the Anagram and my amp is hissing like no tomorrow. This doesnt make sense.

Nope. Not this..

EDIT AGAIN: ok, maybe this is the cause.. Looks like the 1/4" outs on the Anagram are line level, not instrument level. Through the amp return which accepts line level input, no noise. Through the amp front - a lot of noise. Is there a way to switch the 1/4" outs from line to instrument? I don't seen anything in the manual saying you can, maybe they are dedicated line level 1/4" outs.

Nope again

LAST EDIT: it was the cable connecting the crux to the Anagram. 🤬 The last freaking thing I checked. Sounds fantastic now. I see teeth marks, I think my cat had some fun with it. Didn't bite all the way through but it's compromised for sure.

Well, kinda fitting that the hiss comes from the cat. 🤣

Glad to hear it got sorted out :)

On the Luminal Compressor not doing any compressing issue, I noticed the exact same thing on my Anagram. It's got to just be a bug because the same compressor is included in the Infinity Combo Amp and the Exponent 500 head, both of which I own, and it works normally on both of those. Last night I was playing the Anagram into the Combo and tested it back to back and it was obvious the anagram compressor wasn't doing a thing even on 20:1 or "all" or raising the input, etc. The compressor on the combo worked fine.

I posted an update a while back. The latest firmware now test conclusively as HL providing gain reduction, though the amount and character of gain reduction tends to be more subtle than every other compressor I own with similar settings.

Anyone else getting major hiss when running the Anagram like a pedalboard through the front of an amp? When I go through the return of an amp it's not nearly as bad. At home levels its not a super big deal, but cranked its bad. Even with a "no block" preset engaged. Master eq set at -12DB, the rest of the outputs at 0db and linked to the master. Using my DC7 for power. Am I missing a setting somewhere to turn this godawful hiss off?

I was going to use the Anagram live tonight for the first time and now I don't know if thats possible.
it this maybe a power supply grounding issue? i know some complained of this and part of why i was asking about power supply concerns.

Me too.. been having a heck of a time with weird things happening while trying to dial it in, but I won't be defeated 😆! I've come too far... used it live last night for the first time and sounded great in rehearsal. First gig with the Anagram this Saturday night. Finally comfortable enough to use it live.

Turned out to be bad cable. I power the anagram off the 24V port from the DC7 with the crux. im no electrical engineer, but I can only assume that the cable issue somehow affected how the power was sent to the Anagram.

Stock PS update - got ship notice today from DG that my new PS is on the way. Will report back if this one has similar issues as the first one.

I’m finally debuting the Anagram tonight and have swapped out my Stomp XL but still plugging into the Subway + DI for now. Small venue, so a good opportunity to work out any issues. Also installed my FretFX LEDs today and they look pretty cool. 😎

Next weekend I fly home on the redeye to arrive Friday morning and have 2 late night 4hr gigs back to back Friday/Saturday, so I went to workout potential live issues before then.

@Barticus Very nice! I had my first gig with the Anagram as well. Punk show - used it in the front of my WD800 as a pedalboard.. Utilized only one preset but used all three scenes. Sounded great! It was the seediest punk dive bar in SD, no FOH for me or guitar (kick, vox and drum overhead went FOH). All levels were good, my KK3 was plenty loud and I was pretty impressed. Fans seemed to really enjoy what they were hearing!

My lady is my second set of ears while im playing, she knows what things should sound like. We have hand signals if she hears im too quiet, guitar too loud, etc.., she just danced the whole time so obviously things sounded great. I didn't have to adjust a thing on the Anagram on the fly, just my amp level after the first song. After all the weirdness I've encountered I'm glad it went off without a hitch.

Dive bar rant: the single urinal puck will never, and i repeat *never* cover up THAT smell. I wish dive bars would care a little more sometimes.

So, are you Anagram owners basically saying that the sound quality is excellent?

I've only had the one live gig with it, but I've had a few recording sessions now where I utilized both xlr outs (one clean, one dirty) on the same preset. Can't really tell any discernable difference between running a separate DI and my normal pedal chain (SA Atlas > X7 > B7K).

It's been a little more tricky for me to dial in as a "pedalboard" for live use, but it pretty much kills so far for recording.

As there is no Factory Reset I re-built up many Presets.
On my Ambient Patch I need the Stomp mode instead of Scene Mode.
I still have the bug, that when I make changes to an assigned Pedal, the Binding is gone and can´t be reassigned. O have to delete the Pedal and put in newly on the grid.
Is it me who is using it wrong, or is it really a bug? Because it happened since Day 1.

Sound quality is excellent. Specially if you like the Darglass sound. For dirt.

It's a good device, well designed and easy to use, but I think there are some things that could be improved. I hope they add more effects in the future. While we don't need it to be an HX Stomp, the selection feels quite lacking; it doesn't have a phaser or tremolo. Does it have ring modulation? And the included effects (flanger, delays, reverbs) sound quite generic, like those you'd find on a much cheaper multi.

Maybe they could pursue collabs with other brands? IDK, a Valhalla reverb in there would be a game changer.
