Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

Really, really good. Mine is an old '74 square back so I didn't push it too much but, as imagined, it was a poop cramp inducing sine wave of bass goodness.

This makes me very happy to hear.

Aussie supplier said he should have them in about 5 days so I'm hoping I can hook it up to my 810 next weekend.

Tomorrow I'll also try it through a sealed LDS 610. It's sounded great through everything so far...best though through the sealed NV412.

Man I hear you! I had to go to lightweight equipment due to "rode hard put up wet" ha ha (life) syndrome. But we are lucky today to have many lighter weight choices. I use a small portable light dolly to move cabs around that don't have wheels.

I had a chance to compare the onboard distortion with my fav OD pedal, the Brimstone Crossover Distortion. The onboard has a very compressed sound. The Brimstone is very dynamic even at higher levels of overdrive. I definitely prefer the BCD. This is not really a knock on the DG. I really bought it for its clean sound which continues to amaze me.

I really got to mess around with the clean tone today at high volume. Amazingly clean!! and so much punch and thump with my 5-string Jazz.

I have thought really hard on how to emphasize and communicate the Microtubes Engine in a way that wouldn't eclipse the clean channel, which was one of the things we are the most proud of.

Very glad to hear the clean channel is appreciated!

So I spent a good portion of this day practicing some sets for rehearsal. I am getting familiar with the amp tone and response. I have been using the clean side only, with the eq set neutral. My clean sound is a five string ACG Uber bass, (Invalid Link Removed), a Cali76 compact bass compressor, the DG M900 and a Fearless F112 cab. The sound is simply glorious.

Bit the bullet and just bought one. I'm really hoping it sounds as good as what I've been able to see on YouTube.

Like @BFunk I've got a MB Subway 800 and even though it sounds great. It's a little too dark & low mid heavy for my taste.

Really psyched to try this amp head!

Don't worry, the clean voicing is definitely not dark. It can do dark but it's bright yet warm and never sterile and/or brittle.

I have ordered one here in the UK. It will be used with Barefaced One 10s (pair) or a Super Compact. I play in a big band at the moment so I will only use a fraction of the power, but I could not resist the design and quality. I can use the 2 Ohm setting to reduce the power out. The EQ controls and layout are exactly what I would want.

If it arrives in time I might try it out on a gig this weekend. Exciting times!
