Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

First test drive of the M900 at rehearsal. This amp is so powerful! It was shaking the walls at 9:00 on the master volume (and that is on the lower power setting). Played with the B3K engaged, drive at about 2:00. Crushed it. Very pleased!!!

All plugged in and all controls work.
First up is the MAS 112 no super tweeter.

A touch more ambient activity above maybe 1Kz than hoped for but it is clean and even across the bass frequency range.

Off to explore some dreams.

I agree. There is a bit of broad boost in the upper mids, lower treble region. I personally like it. It gives the bass a bit of snap and clarity. But I don't find it harsh by any means.

Correct, not harsh at all, and it gets carried away, actually masked, when the Micro tubes are engaged.

I am referring to the ambient noise at idle in clean mode.

I have several tube amps that will receive the head to head challenge against the Microtubes 900 so more thoughts will be forthcoming.

For now I like what I am hearing.
Plus it is much lighter than the Matchless Thunder Man. :)

Just ordered mine today got it for 925$ on Reverb. Anybody played a P bass with flats through this amp? I know this is a modern voiced amp just curious if it can cop a vintage tone as well!

I've played a P bass not with flats though. With the booty that this amp has, it can easily cop a vintage tone. An extremely versatile preamp with just about any tone imaginable on tap.

Put my order in this afternoon with Sweetwater. ETA is late Oct/mid November.
Anyone else order from Sweetwater? My experience with them is stuff usually comes in sooner than later. I believe when I got my MB800 Fusion they were waiting on them as well and it came in pretty quick.

Looking forward to simplifying my pedalboard and moving the B7K/B3K into the amp!
I expect they get them same time as other dealers as I think there is only one USA distribution point.
When I inquired yesterday, I was told by the distributor that they were hoping for the 2nd batch to ship from them in about 1.5 weeks. The first batch sold out at the distributor level and I think with many dealers as well.

Did you finance it? I still need to ask them if the 24 month deal works on the amp since it's a special order.

Lol. Of course! That's the only reason I got it! HAHAH.
But they just offered 36 months of 0% APR. So the price went down from about 40-something/month to abotu $27/mo.
I got an email saying that they're offering 36/mo @ 0% APR from Oct 11-24th, so I gave them a call to make sure that a special order fell under it and they said yup.
I love Sweetwater. The 0% financing and free shipping is usually what makes me purchase more expensive items. That on top of when my band needs PA gear or stands or anything out of nowhere I can get it asap and then not take lump sums out of the band account.
AND FREE CANDY! OMG!

OT question for Darkglass enthusiasts:

Just curious, but what the heck is a "microtube?"

I presume it's a buzz word that some marketing type thought sounded cool. No offense to the products, which seem to get high praise. Just checking.
