Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

I would guess they'll go for around $850-$900.

I'll go with $1000 - $1200. I'll be speechless if it's under $900, very surprised at under $1200. To me it's only worth as much as any other mainstream 500-700W class D amp so if it's above say.. a Mesa D-800? Pass. The Darkglass makers probably keep a sharp eye on here to determine how much they can charge for something. If you look at the whole of TB and how excited everyone seems to get over Darkglass anything... they'll figure they can charge almost anything they want. I figure, based on the temperament here, they could get away with a Jule Monique price for the amp, easy. (as long as it's under 10 pounds)

Other people will probably not agree, which is fine by me. It ticks a lot of boxes for people on TB.

Why put "tubes" in the name if there are no freakin' tubes in it?

I know, I know!
Marketing!

Marketing is mostly just inventive ways to lie, especially nowadays.

Being they're not american, I've always guessed it's a play on words. "Micro" as in microelectronics, microchip, etc and "tubes" as in "not entirely solid state sounding".

I still agree with you... I don't like it when someone names something that intuitively sounds like it may be related to one thing, only to find out it has nothing at all to do with it.

I wonder how this will compare to the small Glockenklang amps.

...might be interesting, but I think it is impossible to say more just by looking at the picture.
It might just as well not be.
I am curious to find out more.

Owning 3 tube heads and a Duality, I will personally pass on this amp, but many players and DG fans may find this head ideal and easier than carrying 2 Darkglass pedals and an amp to a gig. With that said, I owned both the Deluxe VMT and B7K at one point before finding my sound with another tube pre and I still think the B7K Ultra is a great tool for those who like their clean tone. Cheers and best of luck to Doug and company.

Popped up on IG. Looks nice...I don't buy amps based on looks.
Light...great, but it's been done.

I'm trying to figure out all the hullabaloo about this since there are no specs or demos or pricing....

Is everyone just a Darkglass fan?

Sell me on this one.
