I feel guilty up here in Canada's frozen north, like we're sending the cold frigid air your way.

When I lived in northern Maine the ice wouldn't totally melt off the lakes until the beginning of June. Lake temps. for swimming on my birthday (late July) would mostly be in the high 50's or low 60's.

My family hails from northern Aroostook County, and they joke "there are only two seasons in northern Maine; winter and the 4th of July.

I thought NYE was a cold load out ... tonight it'll be minus sumthin' and windy at load out. Gonna be frigid. Yesterday I asked Siri for the local temperature. Her reply "Brrrr! It's 12 degrees!".

No gig but last night was my office's post-newyears party, at a fancy driving range. Outdoors was 12 with a windchill of -1 (and people were still hitting balls!), indoors they'd heated the dining/party room to what felt like 90. So, what a wide swing (pun!).

When we got home, my girlfriend looked up how the weather is doing for her friend in Australia: 105F.

This season is just plain uncomfortable. Unless you're in Disney, apparently.

My wife and I are considering retiring to The County. Affordable, quiet, safe, beautiful, sparsely populated, what's there not to love? ...Oh, yeah, WINTERS LIKE THIS!!! The thing is, when you're retired and you have three feet of snow, you don't have to shovel out in twenty minutes or be late for work.

Well, if it's any consolation, we got a bomb cyclone courtesy of American waters. That last storm which came up the Eastern coastline brought winds and rain to us here in Nova Scotia with winds equivalent to a Category 1 or 2 hurricane: 130 kph here in Halifax, 170 kph up in Cape Breton. That's 80 mph to 105 mph for you folks in English unit land. Now, it's all frozen, frozen, frozen. Lovely.

Its not awful if your dressed for it but when that wind starts blowing when its already below zero that's a whole bunch of no fun.

My Extended family have been reporting from N.Y......Bitterly cold there too.
Believe it or not, living in Australia (and being English) I actually miss that cold. In the Tropics here it NEVER get's cold. I don't even own a coat. Trying to make you jealous? Not at all - relentless o.t.t. heat is not all it's cracked up to be. I miss the Season's. Christmas time here is often 35C - Alien - even after all these years.

I’ll gladly trade you the 3 deg F I woke up to this morning for relentless warm & hot weather all year round.

It was 8 below zero in Southeastern Massachusetts this morning. Parts of upstate New York where I am originally from were 21 below zero. To put it in perspective, Anchorage, Alaska was +19.

I woke up to a dead battery in my SUV this morning. I think I'll wait until tomorrow when it's almost 40 degrees to replace it.

Yea, cabin fever. We got to get out and head to the mall and walk around this afternoon. Even the wife is starting to look good to me.

My wife drags me to the second hand stores a lot. It seems everyone who moves here from the north donates all their cold weather clothes and gear to these places. I know I may only need that down winter coat once every 10 years down here but man I do cherish it in my closet when I do need it.

I filled in with a friend's band last night, temps below 10F, wind chill in the negative numbers

We got down to 21degrees for the overnight a few days ago...
all I could think was..."Colder than a Mother-in-law's heart!"
