DBZ on Amazon 5 strings $1223 MSRP for $269.00

I have the 4 string version (MM type pickup.) Weighs about 7.5lbs, P profile, set neck. Controls are Volume, Blend (yep,) Bass/treble. Active passive switch, Babicz bridge. I prefer it to my Sterling SB-14. It's ugly, but it's a super duper value at that price.

I picked up one of these in the 5 string variation. Plays really good and sounds really good. The set neck and Babicz bridge (19mm) are quite rare at this blowout price range. Don't know the origin of the pickups, the preamp is B&G, but does the job quite well.

At first I didn't care for the body shape, but the more I look at it, the more it grows on me. Furthermore, it looks a bit like the old Gibson Grabber, Ripper, G3 basses. With the sculpted body, being only about 1/2" think along the edge, it sort of an updated version of these "classics."

A great buy for the price!

It's apparently Korean. If so, it's probably a decently-built Cor-Tek -- which are a good deal more expensive than they used to be. Ugly, but this is what's passing for a long deal these days, I guess. [shrug]

[Down memory lane...for active 5s from Amazon, remember [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] for ~$200? I paid just under or just over. Dug it out to take a look. Nice bass, but the active 5 experiment just wasn't me. Heavy? You bet!]
