Dead B strings

I've been using SIT Foundations SS for years on my 5 string basses. I ordered 4 sets a about a month ago for some recording, so I strung up my bass and the b string was super dead. Opened another pack for it's b string, strung it up and wouldn't you know it was also dead. All 4 packs had dead b strings. So I contacted them about it and was told that they would send replacements right out to me. Usually takes 3-4 days to receive new orders since I'm one state away. Weeks later now and still no replacements. So I had to drive almost an hour to purchase some DR Hi Beams yesterday to record today. I love Foundations but I'll be hesitant to reorder them again until they resolve my b string issue.

It’s possible you helped them find a QC problem, and they can’t replace your strings until it’s solved. It would be nice if they told you, but… I suppose if they come through eventually with good strings they’ll have addressed your issue.

Thanks for this post. You might have save me the hassle of having to deal with this "dead B" issue.

I've been considering ordering a set of SS Foundations 45-125 for my son to try on his Ibanez SR1205E as an alternative to the Dunlop Super Bright Stainless Steels. This makes me very hesitant now.

Meanwhile, a close friend of mine was just telling me about the problem he had with the Foundation Nickel 45-105 set he recently tried. He simply couldn't intonate the A string to his satisfaction. I'm talking about a seasoned veteran who's experienced in setting up his basses.

That's two strikes so far...

This is the first time this has happened to me after years of using them. Hopefully it gets fixed because they are my favorite strings.
