New to this thread and to Dean basses. I am thinking of purchasing this bass. It is a Dean Jeff Berlin sig bass. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I've been looking looking all over the net and can't find anything about it. Is it authentic? I found a lot of other Dean and other Jeff Berlin basses but not this one. I read there were three models.

That is the Jeff Berlin Signature Bass 'Bassic' model made in Korea.
I own several Dean Jeff Berlin Signature basses.
One Exotic Quilt Maple made in Czech Republic
Two Standard made in Czech Republic
One USA Patchwork
One Player active made in China
I never played the models made in South Korea.
Can you share the first letters and first 2 numbers of the serial number please?
Here is a page from a 2001 Dean catalog that features your bass.
At this time in 2001 the South Korean model was the 'budget' version of the Jeff Berlin Signature Bass.
It did not have the Bartolini pups, nor did it have the Badass II bridge.
However, I have to assume it has the same fast thin neck that I absolutely love. I say that as even my MIC model has the same neck.
The South Korean Model came in Classic Black, Metallic Red and Metallic Blue.
Here is a cut from a 2001 catalog that features only MSRP prices for the Exotic and the Standard and not the Bassic, which is your model.
Street prices would be around $300 lower.
The Bassic probably had an MSRP of $800 and a street price of $500
There's more than three models.
The three above
plus
The Player MIC active
The USA Patchwork
The USA Basic not to be confused with the MIK Bassic
The USA Basic is the same as the USA Patchwork but without the patchwork wood pieces.
So that is actually 6.
The Dean JB Signature was made from 1999 to 2013. It was a dedicated model not based on any other Dean bass and only ever a JB signature. JB was playing these from 1999 to 2013, usually a USA model or a Czech model and never an active model. Only ever made 4 string and fretted.
In 2014 JB switched to Cort signature.
