Any luck on this transaction? There is an Edge Pro 5 near me that I may see if I can get via a trade; it is a beautiful looking bass.
That said, I stumbled upon a Barchetta (guitar) at a Music Go Round in the Twin Cities a couple of years ago for a stupidly cheap price. It was like new (still had the plastic film on the pickups and cavity covers) and sounded incredible. So I bought it, and just take it out to noodle on it or stare at it. Now where are those pics...

No dice - not interested in what I brought to trade. Sad to see it hang on a wall but at $450 I think that's high (too high for me). Right now if I'm going to put $$$ into a bass it's going to be a seven string.Any luck on this transaction?
That is kind of high for a used Edge Pro. There’s a few Euro spec basses on GC used you might want to check outNo dice - not interested in what I brought to trade. The Aphex pre-amp is awesome and definitely worth the extra effort to look for.I ordered a Dean Exotica Quilted Ash Acoustic bass. Should be in on Thursday or Friday... I bought an older one as I really wanted the Aphex pre. I will get pics up asap!
What exactly is this? Could you provide some extra pics plzI own a Dean, and I really like it, but I think the hardware on this bass is crap. But I liked it too much to trash it, since the neck and pickups were really really good. I put new tuners on it, and I looking into getting some gold saddles and knobs, to try to get that faux Aria Black n' Gold feel. Also, I would like to become part of the Dean club. Even though this bass had issues, I like Dean basses and guitars, and they are one of my favorite brands(except for jackson, but they don't make left handed concert basses. Still holding out for that vintage 80's charvel concert bass.) View attachment 3016219
It is a Dean Edge 09. I like it, but some of the parts went bad. I liked gold, so I started to change the hardware. The bass sounded and felt nice stock, but some of the hardware was garbage. This is what it looked like stock....What exactly is this? Could you provide some extra pics plz

If you get to play it first and like it, then sure. If you don't, then do some research. I couldn't find any good demos of the bass before I bought it, but for about $ 179, I figured I could do stuff to it if I didn't like it stock. I had absolutely no problems with the bass's sound or feel, only poor quality hardware. This might be a one time thing though, because I haven't heard of any other instances of this happening. I play mostly metal and rock bass, and use a pick most of the time. It sounds good with a pick, but it sounds good with fingers too, as long as you change the settings on your amp. If I had to go back and buy it again knowing that the tuners would start to give out, I probably would still buy it, because in my opinion, a new set of tuners is cheaper than buying a more expensive bass. Dean has been known for selling good instruments at a low price. So for all intensive purposes, yes, if you can get it for $ 90, take it.So you're saying if I come across an Edge 09 in mint condition for 90$.. Take it? No ifs, ands or buts.
Pretty good fit then, I like pick playing and do a lot of thrash/metal.If you get to play it first and like it, then sure. If you don't, then do some research. Dean does change hardware over the years on many of their basses from name brand to no name. However, the Edge 09 being one of their lower line basses probably never had name brand tuners or briges to begin with. There are quite a few Dean aficionados that absolutely love the Custom Zone, which is also a lower line model. Just goes to show that you don’t always have to shell out big $$ to get something that performs well even if you might need to tweak it a bitIf you get to play it first and like it, then sure. The Edge 09 has one pickup and one volume and one tone control.I ask because an edge 09 popped up for 90$ in mint condition. I have an Edge 01 from the 90s that I love. Just couldn't find any sound clips of the 09. The few reviews I could find were amateur at best.
