Dean Club!!!

I got a weird one, the Sledgehammer 5 in ash/maple. I love this bass, SO comfortable to play. I added the 2nd pickup ala $$. I want to get a Hipshot TransTone bridge for it.

Just traded for a Dean Quilted 6...
It was a filthy pig that needed a lot of work.
An intense cleaning, frets leveled, complete neck adjustment and a set of DR FatBeams and all is GOOD!
I got it CHEAP and after about 6 hours on the bench I am very impressed. I did not expect it to play as well as it does.

It isn't in the class with my Modulus Quantum 6 but it's was a mere fraction of the price! LOL

It's a decent instrument for rock (not very versatile)

Regardless...I'm stoked and I feel like I rescued a forgotten instrument!
:hyper:

After a complete set up it plays amazingly well
(VERY HOT 18 VOLT PREAMP)
Thinking I might convert to a fretless or trade it towards one???
ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A FRETLESS THEY WANT TO TRADE?

For the "classic" Dean lovers my '81 ML. Black with cream binding and dual Dimarzio humbuckers. Great playing bass...

And for the new generation Dean lovers my '09 USA custom shop Demonator. The inlays are mirrors but it doesnt show well in the pic.

Bonus points for anyone who can name the original guitar design that the Demonator is based on....

My guitarist just picked up a Razorback guitar recently, so in my band, the guitarist and I have been doing the dueling Dean thing lately. (That's me on the right)

Actually playing a show tonight with my new (to me) Hartke 410XL and Hartke 2000 Amp. I guess the Hartke club is calling next....

Oh, long time lurk, first time post.

Oh, and can I please get a number? :hiding:

Wow... I'm so used to seeing bargain basement Dean's on sale at Amazon, that I've almost forgotten how beautiful some of their designs can look.

Regarding that Demonator, I'd have to say that the lines on this one clearly recall the Gibson T-Birds. I'd never really noticed that before.

It's true, you realy dont see the "high end" deans much particularly basses. They have made some really nice stuff over the years.

You right about the T-bird influence in the raised center neck through design, but the Demonator is actually a "Reverse Bel Aire". Deans version of the Super-Strat.
