clone or not, their Call76 does sound very similar to my Cali76CB. more so than any of my others, and i have a lot of them.

What are we contrasting? The build quality? The orientation of the PCB?For contrast.

The Cali76 has two stacked PCBs fully loaded with SMD components. What are we contrasting? The build quality? The orientation of the PCB?
The Cali is quite a packed circuit to copy but I don't doubt that the drive pedals are fairly accurate. Let's start posting guts shots. The Cali76 has two stacked PCBs fully loaded with SMD components.
The DemonFX does not.
What's the final word on it now that you've had it for a while John?well the DemonFX Call76 does have a lot of SMD components and double sided PCBs.
i compared it side by side with my Cali76CB thru my Fender Supertwin head with a 215 cab and while it wasn't exactly the same, it actually was very close, so IMO, you really can't get a better comp for the price. What's the final word on it now that you've had it for a while John?
How does the buffered bypass sound? Any tone suck when the pedal is off?i compared it side by side with my Cali76CB thru my Fender Supertwin head with a 215 cab and while it wasn't exactly the same, it actually was very close, so IMO, you really can't get a better comp for the price.
if it does, i didn't notice it.How does the buffered bypass sound? Any tone suck when the pedal is off?
If you don’t have the money I’d say buy the DemonFX.These pedals continue to intrigue and haunt me... I want to pick one up as a stop gap until the funds are available to get the OE pedals I want. But then I realize its dumb to spend money when I am trying to save money for something else....
I wasn't thinking of the compressor. I have one I like. I am debating between the 64 and the Super vintage. Its an interesting point though you make...If you don’t have the money I’d say buy the DemonFX.
A Studio Grade Compressor is a luxury item for a pedalboard that you probably don’t need and nobody else you play with will notice IMO. The crowd definitely won’t. If you’re in a studio they’ll have an 1176 there.
When you’re banking cash from gigs and can write it off then that’s a different story and that’s who these products are aimed at. Blues Lawyers too, obviously.
This is probably more than enough.I wasn't thinking of the compressor. I have one I like. I am debating between the 64 and the Super vintage. Its an interesting point though you make...
The MXR M81 or the EH Battalion might be good fits in that case as well...
I managed to get a Battalion on eBay for under $100 a few months back, so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out. There’s a guy locally selling an M81 on FB Marketplace for $60 that I don’t need, but am struggling to resist given the price.I wasn't thinking of the compressor. I have one I like. i saved up for the Origin Super Vintage and haven't regretted it.
