DemonFX Pedals - Any good?

With these products you literally have a choice though.
You can buy from the developer who in turn pays their staff a living wage in humane working conditions or not.
You can do a load of mental gymnastics to rationalise this if you like but it is your choice.
You could also buy the knock off pedals without promoting them online.

No judgement to people that want to save few quid but call it what it is.

You mean what it is according to you. I don't know that Darkglass pays living wages and that the Demonfx people don't. We can assume all day, but I will say one thing. I do no mental gymnastics to rationalize anything. I simply buy whatever is cheapest that can get me the sound I want. If it's a knockoff, well, no problem. I feel perfectly fine doing that, no mental gymnastics required.

Well done.

I recently went and found a clone of a b7k. Kinda an impulse buy and an experiment into if dark glass is something I'd want to put down an investment into. My take on it is that I think the dark glass circuit is good. The eq might not be exactly what some would like but it's really not bad. I'm not a huge distortion fan but it's definitely useable and if you have an active bass you can sculpt lots of things. I wanted something to balance out the super transparent and polite tone of my nux mld pedal I use for headphones and aux so I can run music. I kinda get myself a similar vibe with both pedals dialed in together as I did from my GK Plex that I really wish hadn't failed on me. It could be made gritty but it can also do transparent but at the same time there was a little bit of color that I just attribute to gk DNA. The "clone glass" kinda colored my tone and got me closer to where I want to get back to. On its own that b7k tone is a little baked in but not as 1 trick pony as other tones I've tried. Mind you it's not the real b7k but hopefully it's close enough I can give people a decent idea.
just wanted to post this that I posted in a dark glass thread. I got the demon fx b7k clone a7k or whatnot. I think it's a decent pedal depending on what you need it to accomplish for you.

What I am interested in is to know the durability of DemonFX pedals. I have a friend who ordered a cheap 30 EUR looper (it was NOT demonFX brand) off of AliExpress and it broke down after a year. For the price he cant complain, but I am a bit hesitant to drop 60 EUR on the DemonFX A7K. Though for the price I am quite tempted. I just need it for rehearsals as the band I am playing with right now dont seem ready to go on stage atleast for the next six months and bass DI through IEM sounds like farts so I need atleast some tone purely for rehearsals.
Anyone has any ideas about durability of DemonFX pedals? If they can last me for over a year without breaking down I am good. I will buy one right now
I have the actual B7K but I gig with the A7K. I have treated it like absolute shizzle, and it comes back for more.

I was on the fence about getting one of the clones but if I liked it I don't think I'd have the confidence to use it at a gig etc. It's unlikely to retain any resale value etc and if its DOA theres not really much you can do. On the flip side i can grab a 2nd hand Darkglass A/O for example and if I don't like it i can get my money back perhaps minus a little for shipping. Thats before we get into the ethics of buying cheap copies and likely questionable manufacturing practices.

1 - If you're considering a clone, it's because you LOVE the device in question but it's out of your price range. Resale value is not really a factor.

2 - Darkglass, as well as people on the used market? They want waaay too much for something that is actually really simple. They have really shot up in price. I throw my ethics in the trash when that starts happening, because it's a fair response.

3 - I have my own B7K clone if anyone is interested

1 implies you'd buy the knock off if you liked the original but if you were on the fence you'd splash out on the real thing?

Got me one of these Alpha Omicron clones. I never tried an original one to compare but this one sounds great.
I have tried a B3K and a B7K before, as well as emulations of those pedals on SA Afterschock and my HX Stomp, and never really bonded with these pedals specially because of the overcompressed gain structure.
But this one sounds amazing and it's a diferent beast. Really loving it so far.
