Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

I have a body finished, hanging up in my shop for the finish to cure. The neck was scheduled to be here mid April, but...that'll probably slip, as I'm guessing the factory will be shut down for a while. It'll be OK, though - I have a few more basses to play with in the mean time.
Thank you all. There are many in much worse situations right now, so I am counting my blessings. Everything will be alright for us.

Even if the amps in the background are all you have (Of course there is more), then I say you have good taste.
I thought you went down in a bunker and bought an anti tank gun when I read the title. This kind of desperate is a good kind.
Go to an Asian store if there are around you. They sell the dried kind. Plenty of mushrooms at Trader Joe's.

Ha! Would love it if that was my bass bunker! The shot is from the store, not my studio. Some day I'll upgrade from the GK combo and Ampeg practice amp that sit in my real bunker!

Nah, I'm saving up to buy more toilet paper...once a few more acres of forest are cut down to make the next delivery.
I wonder when we'd be able to get TP in .pdf format and save those rainforests...

Tough times ahead, no doubt. I'll be fine, when all is said and done. I have a recording session tomorrow and was worried it would fall victim to the current events, too. However, the artist I'm working for said he was already loaded up with sanitizer and hand wipes. And the studio owner/producer is a serious germaphobe before all of this started. I'm playing my bass only, plus there's only 4 of us attending the session, so we'll be fine.
Funny, I was set to buy the Music Man Stingray SR5 bass that I let go a couple of years ago and was happy to buy it back. But late last week, I told the seller I wanted to hold off a couple of weeks to see what was gonna happen. However, the seller, a young beast of a guitar player, kinda freaked out at this news, saying he was afraid of losing gigs and paying his rent. Very well...
I told him to look for me in 20 minutes, I'll be there with cash in hand. I took in hand wipes, thoroughly wiped down the entire case, then opened the case, wiped down the body and neck of the bass with the wipes, then wiped down the strings really good with alcohol. All this before I loaded the bass into my truck. Wiping down the strings seemed like the right thing to do, even though I planned to change them immediately and I still had to handle the old strings. After setting it up, I do love that bass, even though it is a really bad time to be buying another bass!
I expect the bottom to fall out of work, if not this week, then maybe next. The production gigs at my part-time job are postponing just like the playing gigs. So now I have time to thoroughly dig into the recording program Logic like I've been wanting to for several months. I'm determined to make use of this time somehow. Can't afford the big projects on my house, but there's lots of little things to be done and now's the time.

I ordered a Phil Jones Bass micro 7, should be here in a couple days. Small and light. I can move to different rooms in this big old Victorian house. Maybe go out on the deck even, if it ever warms up again.
