Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

If you can get a bid on this and win, you'll be set for another few weeks.

The craziest thing about that is the fresh mushrooms only last maybe a week at the outside. Why do you decide to hoard those, of all things? Insanity. Peeps are seriously panicked.
It'd be a terrible thing to let all that hoarded toilet paper go to waste unused.

Edit: how rude, I didn't even mention OP's new acquisition :rollno: Ahem: it looks stunning! I hope you get many years' worth of pleasure from it! (Oh, if you're into naming instruments, please don't name it "Corona".)

Trying to rebook an (April) work trip to Ireland (as our flight is now under the ban)... have a trip scheduled for Ireland, NI, Scotland- in Oct... hoping to use current tix for then?!?

So... on Sat. I took my new Jazz 'build' in for a Plek & fret level :hyper::hyper:

**A few more thoughts... I am a Pastor- working with individuals dealing with various addictions (Parent organization located in Northern Ireland- thus my altered travel plans) and I am currently 'filling-in' (preaching, etc.) at a local church- in Baltimore, MD. My wife and I are fairly 'safe & secure' during this most difficult time- but my work connects me to a lot of vulnerable/high-risk individuals. I am not *here* to preach! Just a reminder (which I spoke about on Sunday morning)... whether, or not, you agree with all that is going on- please be reminded that, for many folks, this is (potentially will be) devastating. While I do not have a 'sky is falling' mentality- I do believe I (we) need to be thinking about the well-being of others- maybe more than we have before... so my canceled trip & getting my bass worked on, while important to me, are not vital... although my luthier did thank me for giving him some business! www.philtone.com
(sorry OP... I won't derail anymore )

Thanks, all, for chiming in—derailments included!

I started this thread as a humblebrag about the Ray and/or my impulsive reaction to "the end of the world"—which I don't actually believe it is, but do believe the hard times will result in something. Hoping that something includes time well spent with the nicest musical instrument I've owned. My goal is to shed as much as possible over the next (fill in the blank) weeks or months and create a silver lining by stepping up my game.

Was wondering about others' impulses and plans ... granted, mostly about music. :)

I'm not very market savvy and don't feel like taking on a risk right now :chicken: I also want relatively easy access to this money in the near term as a sort of "rainy day fund" if it becomes necessary.
Similar.
This market ain't going to pick up any time soon, so it's bizarrely good to have money sitting in a 0% interest bank account while investments steadily depreciate around it.

I had to postpone my wedding and honey moon to Germany. Great timing! At least if we have to quarantine down here in FL, I get to do that with the sweetest, prettiest, most inspiring person I've ever met.
I just recently went on a mild gear acquisition spree, so I'll take advantage of the virus dilemma to log some extra time familiarizing myself with the new toys.
That said, I will still keep an eye on the used market, just in case some Coronavirus-mania-fire-sale deals pop up

Due to the times we're living in:
  • We cancelled our trip to NY to see our daughter and granddaughter.
  • Our friend from NY cancelled her trip here.
  • We cancelled our dream trip to Ireland and to visit my friend in Austria.
  • We even ditched dinner with friends last night.
So yesterday I went to the local GC and bought a brand-spanking-new EBMM Stingray 4 string, stealth black.

When the world is running down...

Anyone else resorting to desperate measures?
Oh man that's beautiful. Kind of did the same thing last year when my holidays got cancelled. Feels good don't it?
