Dingwall: More than Metal

This place is close to Wilmington? Often I go to Myrtle Beach in the summer as part of visiting family. I may visit that shop myself.

As much as you like to try different basses, allow time to go by Bass Pluckers as well. They usually have some out-of-the-ordinary stuff.

By the way, Music Loft is also a Spector dealer. Between those two places you could probably crank out 50 videos! :hyper::bassist:

Let me know if/when you're going!

Music Loft currently has a 4 string Super J that's calling my name.

Where is bass pluckers? I checked Music Loft’s website, and they have a lot of beautiful custom Spectors. I will certainly film some videos if they allow me too.

Music Loft. They actually have a pretty big Reverb presence. Hit me up if you go on a weekend. We're usually at Topsail.
Most definitely! Topsail's one of our go-to's when we head to the coast. We like that it's not as crowded as the beaches a bit further south, but it appears that a lot of folks are learning that little trick as well. :roflmao:

If you are looking into trying a Dingwall and dont want to play metal I recommend trying to find a model other then the Ng series with the darkglass preamp unless you've already tried a bass with that preamp and like it enough to play non metal based music. That preamp is a big part of that type of sound

It actually isn’t at all.

For some reason a lot of people seem to think that the Tone Capsule has built in distortion: it doesn’t, it’s just a normal onboard preamp with lo and hi mid controls instead of mid and treble controls.

It’s also bypass-able via the active/passive switch on the bass.

Will Shively uses an NG with Boyz II Men, and his RnB tone is fantastic.
