burningskies... that is a beautiful bass. is it a prima? the electronics look a bit different. how long did the build take?
I'm pretty sure I've decided on what I want. My #1 decision is a purpleburst ABI. My second decision is an ABZ.
But here's one more dilemma I've run into... I mentioned in Part Two I am setting up the Dingwall for F# (with a Detuner to hit E0). What electronics would be better for those notes? Active or passive? I have an active bass setup for F# and it sounds pretty good.
Metal Matt has his P-bass setup for F# and he said it sounds amazing.
I've been playing with low notes for over a year now, but I'm curious to what might be better. If active is a much better route, I might go with a Combustion, or get an ABZ and put an active preamp in it.
What do you fine folk think?
