Yeah, I think the Darkglass can give some nice clean tone. I do think the Combustion may be a tad more versatile. I guess for me, I could play either one. But if I am doing the typical high energy rock I love, I may prefer the Darkglass. If I am playing a bit more mellow, jazzy blues, country etc, I may refer the Combustion over the NG2.

Tax ID number and EIN (which is a federal identification number for businesses) has nothing to do with the bass and everything to do with the seller not doing the paperwork correctly. Whoever sold you the bass didn't properly fill out the export paperwork related to the sale and cost of the item.

Sorry to all for the intrusion. I’m planning to join the D family soon. I haven’t got a chance to test the models so I’m trying to understand what I can from demo videos. Till now, there is no (quality) demo of the super pj with both pu engaged.
Someone can point me in the right direction or record some samples?

I havent tried them on a Super P yet, but for all my non Dingwalls I use Pure Blues. I was always a Rotosound fan before I switched. I have even spoken with the company about trying top get them to make this string for the long scale Dingwalls.

After 10 years of using DR Low Riders (stainless steel and nickel), I decided to try a set of D'Addario Nickel XL's on my SJ5. With less than one week of playing on them, I think they're pretty good so far. The B-string sounds fantastic (went from 0.125" to 0.130"). I would have preferred a 0.105" E (the set has a 0.100" E). We'll see how they last.

The Dingwall nickels are solid strings. I really liked Dunlop's nickel Super Brights on my SP5. What's dumb is they sell the 5 string set with a light B and the 6 string set with a medium B (I think it's .125 and .130 respectively), so I just bought a six string set. The 'regular 4' strings are the same for both sets.

To see that many new Dingwalls in one place at one time, alone would be worth the trip and the price of admission!

BurningSkies is correct. As the recipient, I urge you to be as proactive as possible in monitoring the shipping status, and if you see the instrument held in customs, call them immediately to find out why it is being held. They can connect you with someone in the customs area who can tell you everything that is missing or incorrect. That way, you can contact the seller and get any info that has not been properly provided, and you can really help the process getting the instrument cleared.

I have had a few experiences with this, and BOTH of them were held in customs and in both cases we THOUGHT everything was properly provided and filled out. It still took several days (almost a week) to get them cleared through customs. The shame is that the bass did not have to be shipped back to the buyer to correct the paperwork.

Bottom line, monitor the progress on the shipper's web site closely, and if an exception or hold is placed on the instrument next time, get on the horn with customers service for International Shipments and find out what they are missing and get it to them by email.

Yes, I would not be surprised if that represents the world's largest collection of new Dingwalls outside of Saskatoon!
Not only that, Michael is a wonderful guy to work with on your Dingwall purchase. I had two very pleasant transactions with him.

For those who are geographically challenged on getting to Missouri, possibly the second largest collection of new Dingwalls outside of Saskatoon can be found in the NYC area. It might even be one of the world's largest collections of Canadian-made Dingwalls (seven of them), I'm not sure.

Ding-Wall.

On another note - there is a high end bass shop near me that I think ought to carry Dingwalls...anybody have any tips on how to convince them to become a Dingwall dealer?
