(2) FDVs right now. Initially just playing with 2x (this one came with a screw terminal 2x in it - sweet!), but will likely buy a 3x rotary as I also have a P-Tone, so I should be able to do:

----Neck----
P-Tone
FDV Bridge
FDV Neck
----Bridge----

I never thought I'd be a modder, but this was the most cost effective way to try out FDVs, especially after picking the FDVs and P-Tone up used (well, the Combustion is used as well, even cheaper).

My SJ5 came with 3X FD3s. I couldn't resist trying FDVs. Love them. And then I did exactly what you plan on doing, bought a P tone and put it in the neck position.

Wait a minute, were you spying on me as I was typing my reply?
That was what I had initially typed! But luckily practicality won out and I changed it to what I wrote. As of tomorrow, I will have what I would consider to be the penultimate complete collection of Dingwalls. The only thing I am missing to make it the ultimate collection is a six string fretless. So as much as I would love to have a Super P, I will do the noble thing and let it go to someone more in need. ;-)

(Purists will point out that I am missing not only a Super P, but also a Prima Artist. That will have to be a topic for another day...)

It just occurred to me that you guys might get a kick out of this. It shows the addictive nature of Dingwall basses.
I had just bought a BeatBuddy (one of my all-time best purchases ever) from a fellow TalkBass member. The rest of my family had gone to the Kalahari Waterpark for the weekend, and my three-year-old daughter was waiting for me to get my stuff together and get in the car and go over there with her to meet the rest of our family. I went downstairs to get something for the trip and as I passed through the music room, I saw this very pretty bass sitting on a guitar stand saying "Play me, play me!" Then I noticed the BeatBuddy sitting there on the floor next to the bass saying "Hey, you haven't explored the vast majority of my beats yet!"
So like any dedicated father, what did I do? I said to her, "Check this out, I want to show you something cool that I can do with my new toy." Then I turned on the amp, dialed up some random beat that I had not yet tried, and decided to make up a little riff to go along with the beat and record it in real time as I made it up, just for posterity's sake. I'm so glad I recorded it, because my daughter's facial expressions and patience were absolutely priceless.

And the amount of patience and disinterest In heading to the water park now that you were playing was truly impressive. It was like you captivated her with your music.......

Every time we leave for the weekend i can’t help but do exactly this as I’m walking out the door And I get the same response from my wife.

I didn't know there were multiple models. It was the one David B (I forgot his actual username) recently posted here on the classifieds. Just says BeatBuddy on it I think, and has a jack for an external foot switch with two buttons on it.

I’m pretty certain that is “the deluxe “ model. They have a $200 version that I believe is just 1 button but still great

Don't know. It is this one. Did I mention how much I love it? As in, no bass player, or even guitarist or other musician of any type should be without one. It is just so cool, unless of course, you have a human drummer around. I would certainly prefer that, but my drummer just turned six, and she has a long way to go before we can play out together.
Perhaps I am biased because in the last band I was in that gigged heavily, I was continuously fighting with the drummer to try to keep the beat steady. He was the lead singer, so he could not keep a steady beat while singing and it was super frustrating. The beatbuddy does not have the same cursed issue. It also does not consume anywhere near as much beer.

Yup. I think that’s like a $500 package right there. The same one I got for me......... I mean my kid. It turns out he uses it way more then I thought he would. Jokes on me.

A local TB’r is going to let me take the mini and switch for a test ride.

Anybody know the Allen wrench size for the Super series truss rod?
Seems I’ve shipped all mine out. I have all the others, but not the ball end for the truss rod.

Playing the Super P today, and really liking all the attitude it can bring. It’s even got me playing with a pick.
