I simply would not know which one to play any given night! That is quite the harem to be sure!
Now you know why I have trouble sleeping at night.
Truth be told though, I generally just grab the one that lives on the guitar stand next to the amp. More often than not, that is the NG2 or a 1993 G&L L2000.
When I go into the other room to take a bass out of the case, I am usually tempted by one of the ones that I hit when I first walk into the room, so I don't have to delicately step over a bunch of cases, such as...

Mmm... Marleaux Contra...

Mmm... Marleaux Contra...
Yeah that one is pretty dang sweet.
The first night I played it, I took it out of the case at about 10 PM to test it out for just a few minutes. I finally managed to stop playing it and put it back into the case at about 6 AM.
It is this actual one:

It will go to some lucky heir when I am playing the great gig in the sky, hopefully in about 40 or 50 years.

So I've had my Combustion 5 3X for almost two weeks now and of course it would arrive right when I get super busy at work and at home! Anyway, it's my first one and it's been fun getting used to it. The build quality really is amazing and it plays and sounds great! It came with the Dbird switch installed which wasn't what I was anticipating, the normal 3X switch has more sounds that I can use. I'm already talking to Mo about putting in a 6 way rotary along with series/parallel switches and a passive tone control for ultimate flexibility. I already changed out the knobs and I have a custom pickguard on the way. I'll be sure to post more pics after the mods are complete! Thank you all for the great advice and info over the last year or so as I was waiting for this to finally arrive, glad to be part of the club now!

You can fire your serial number over to tech@Dingwall and ask. My August 2011 Z3 (with the thinner pickups, separated unevenly) has Super Fatty Is.

B>
Would my 2010 Sklar have super fattys? I saw a post at one point on a sklar thatvwas pre super fatty. Unless I'm not remembering correctly.

You could also pop out a pick up and look. My guess would be super fatties. I did not realize that any sklars came without them. The new ones have the SF2s

I have an ABZ 4 and an ABZ 5 and the NG2 that I played seemed much thicker from front to back. I was really surprised.

Was it a new one just out of curiosity? I know the older combustion’s were quite a bit chunkier before v3 I think so there is that possibility.

I also have both and there isn’t an awful lot in it on my 2. The ABs do have a compound radius though, so they do feel quite different

Hey Peeps...

I tried an NG2 5 string today and man is the neck thick. I totally did not see that coming. Am I crazy?

I was worried about that as well, having stubbyish fingers abs having gotten nice and cozy with my EBMM Caprice with the most playable neck of all time, but despite having a thicker looking neck, my NG2 plays like a dream thanks to it’s pretty shallow neck shape.

Much easier to play than my Rumblefish 5, for example.
