The 2 band glock in my ABII is 18v
That's promising! Both my ABZ5 (3 band) and SJ5 (2 band) and 9V and I really wish both were 18V.

My thumb always just ends up in the air when playing the bottom string, and then transitions to sliding over the top of the strings as I move up to the smaller ones. I think I started playing that way after having had a P-bass pickup cover that I would slide my thumb along and when the cover disappeared after selling that bass, the habit stayed, minus the place to rest my thumb. Not sure if that's any help at all, but that's what I do.For those of you longtime players with the same/similar bass, where do you put your thumb while playing on the B string?
This is what I tend to do as well, although if a pup happens to be there, it might slide onto the top of it, but only lightly. My thumb always just ends up in the air when playing the bottom string, and then transitions to sliding over the top of the strings as I move up to the smaller ones. Well, I had to go for the red. The black one is sweet, but this red is something else.
My band has already named it - Testarossa - because it’s bass guitar equivalent of a 1980’s Ferrari.

With you’re location probably l and m.So, I'm interested in doing the NG3 upgrade -- how do I go about getting that going? Where do I order the upgrade parts, etc, from?
I used to have one installed in my P-Bass; it works well, but I was fine with a standard tone control on that bass.Hey, guys.
Anyone got a Tonestyler sitting in their parts bin?
I’d like to borrow one for a week or three to experiment with. Too broke to lash out that much moolah without testing one first...
Or maybe Richard Leighton at Arbutus music? With you’re location probably l and m.
If they cannot help you I would contact Dingwall direct.
FYI if anyone is looking for a new NG3 five string, I have an incoming one available, please see my post in the classifieds!

I just realized that I have been on talkbass for over 13 years. 4814 days to be exact. How did so many days go by? I would be one helluva bass player had I practiced an hour every one of those days! Anyway, I don't know what made me stop and realize that, but it is freaking me out a little. Time flies when you're playing bass.
