Yeah man. I LOVE. The profile smoothness and SOUND of my Z3 6. Im really curious to have the same in Wenge here soon. I’m sure it will be incredible as it is on my 5ers but I considered a few time just sticking with maple.
Either way both are beautiful things.

I liked the walnut a lot. It felt kinda like it was the middle ground between maple and Wenge.

I've heard that about walnut (I have a walnut neck AB2, but never had a chance to play a wenge neck). I've also heard that bubinga can be close (3 of mine have that), but you can't order it anymore because of CITES.

I love the characteristics of bubinga. I’d totally do a bubinga body given the opportunity.
Maybe neck too.

I'll give you a call next one we get in and you can come down and see it. ABII is difficult to put in words, but I can for sure say I want one very much. Here is the best way I can describe it. Sounds corny, but this is the imagery the ABII brings to me.
When I think of all the other excellent Dingwall basses, I think rock n roll get down wearing jeans with holes in them and stunning the whole audience with the sound while I blissfully hear every note.
When I think ABII I think of playing jazz in an exclusive club while dressed in a tux, but not really caring about the audience, just doin my thing and loving the clarity and smooth note sweetness with woody organic deep note sound. At breaks even the stoic come up and want a look at my bass. I just smile.
Of COURSE the ABII will rock n roll as well as everything else! I am just trying to explain the difference of looks/feel, to me.

I know this is a little late but I do have a good epoxy guy. He is an old Dingwall employee, good work, cheap, and not a huge wait time. The only catch would be getting it into Canada and back. I know Chris Stambaugh will do cyano coatings. Bear in mind that cyano is poured so thin that the board is not levelled afterwards. So many builders use it that I doubt it is a problem, it was just something that I learned during my journey. Pedulla uses polyester, that is an option too.

@AB Nate I went with a blank board on my fretless. I have dots after the 12th fret, F Bass style, to help me with placement. (I won't bother you cats with a parallel "fret" picture ;) ) That being said, I would definitely be getting lines on a fanned-fretless. I also wouldn't buy a fanned-fretless just because I don't think it suits my playing style (lots of chords and upper register playing) so take my advice with a grain of salt.
