I'm thinking about maaaaaybe putting back the neck super fatty on my SJ instead of the P-Tone, but rewiring it in series this time.
The bass came from the factory with the bridge in series and neck in parallel. Hmmm...decisions...

So... Got the new SS strings on and gave the neck a tad more relief. A little polish, so sweet!

Question for the knowledge base... The bolts for the neck and bridge; are they tightened to a certain standard? Or just "hand tight"? Also, this Macassar Ebony board. Does it have the same need for more regular moisturizing like regular ebony?

I am so happy that beautiful body is out there in the hands of somebody who will caress it and care for it and show her some love. Just delighted!

You have no idea the feelings I get as I massage her settings to bend to my desires. It's all rather disturbing.

So turned out there was some considerable finish damage at the knobs when I got this bass a few weeks ago and although I wasn't really bothered by it I still let Dingwall know (just so they knew things happen) and they offered me a new body! It's on its way to Amsterdam now, expected on Wednesday. Still have to find a luthier to set it up though.

Crappy. Did it get beat up in transit?

I saw that on a 4 string NG not long ago. Looked like the poor thing took a tumble on its face.

Finish cracking around the holes could be from a sharp blow, but could also be from a sudden and extreme change in temperature or humidity or both, especially when the bass has been sitting outside in a cold vehicle and itself reached a cold temperature then is brought inside and suddenly opened up without waiting several hours for it to gradually come up to room temperature.
