The 4 way switch with 3 listed positions makes me think there’s a typo with the missing middle on the custom. Both have all 3 together and that’s what the custom (which was the original dbird) had.
Now the NG has 2 or 3 pickups, gets the 3 together with the 3x upgrade and comes in a limited silver version.
we're saying the same think, don't understand your previous question sorry

I just got in to TB and have a DW Lee Sklar.

I like coated strings and have been using D'Addario EXP Super Long on DW for sometime.
Now I want to try other coated strings but found not much infos.

Which coated strings are long enough for the bass?
Elixer fits?

Hi Shawn Moon
Elixir strings will “fit” but they’re not as even feeling like the Dingwall strings. I use them on all of my Dingwall’s. You need to adjust the saddle heights after to compensate for the non tapered E and A strings. You have to buy the extra long scale 4 string set and buy the extra long scale taper wound B separately. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
I never thought about the Dingwall strings 'cause I've been getting strings only from the string companies and I found I was using coated strings exclusively over all of my stringed instruments after a certain point of my life :)
I'll give it a try.
Anyway good to hear that the Elixers are usable.

Yeah - I think there is a typo on the website. If you drill down, it does explain the fourth is middle only.

Greetings folks,

Longtime Dingwall looker. About the only bass i have GAS for...yet, never seen or touched one.

Anyone recommend somewhere nearby Michigan that I could see one? Or a way to see if there are some nearby TBers who would let me see theirs? Thanks!

Depending on where you are in Michigan, Chicago Music Exchange has at least one used Afterburner.

There are at least two of us in Grand Rapids with Dingwalls (myself and CL400PV).

I can’t speak for Julian, but you’re welcome to check out mine!
