I'm part of Dingwall user from today.. or better, I'll be at the end of 2019 :(
Ordered this morning my Afterburner 2 5 strings:

Wengè fretboard
3 pickup FDV
Preamp Darkglass
Switching Dbird ( which allows 3 pickup parallel)
natural finish

This is 6 strings but should be the same.
Originally expecting to buy a NG2 but once tryed an Afterburner ... oh man..can't go back

It's been a few months since I changed them, and I'm terrible at doing this, BUT... There is something about the sound of AlniCo V pickups and nickel RW strings that tickles my ears so nicely. To use and abuse an overused word for the umpteenth time, there is a certain warmth. I assume there are peaks in their response in pleasing places. The punch and clarity are still there in spades, but less edgy. It really is hard to wrap words around sounds...! Tap-dancing about architecture is similarly effective. ;)

I have an ABZ and Combustion, the ABZ has a slightly slimmer neck and nicer hardware.
My Combustion is my main player and I don’t really take the ABZ out much anymore.
There isn’t much in it to be fair and I kinda prefer my Combustion to every other dingwall I’ve owned (that includes a NG2, 2 ABZs an AB1 and a Super J). That said if you want a specific wood or colour combination then the Afterburners are where you should be looking.

Nice! I have Combustion and am still a bit undecided on the vents. You should have opened with the carbon fibre one, though. It was totally upstaged by your gold. Stole the show for me.

Man, I'm praying you got some kind of matching leisure suit or at least a bowling shirt to go with the gold pick guard. That'd be a sweet show.

Big fan of you PU switches too. Not sure how many options is enough, but I always seem to like to have more.

Well it’s a good thing she’s off the market hey!!! Otherwise the mail woulda shown up and then what would you do with those pretty pick guards?!

That's pretty sweet, dude! I really LOVE the Afterburners! These will be my 2nd, 3rd, & 4th ABs! I'm expecting mine right around the end of 2019 as well! Quick question, what was the upcharge for the DBird switch? I really feel like I want the all pickups on option...pm me if you want.

Small OT,
I was lucky enough to try the first Ddbird, gunmetal limited edition which has the option to enable all 3 pickup... was sick. Neck pickup is really brillant standalone and with other 2 is punchy and open so if u plan to put 3x FDV pickup this is a MUST ( because otherwise the switch will only enable parallel mode for2 bridge pickups, as a NG2.)
I'm not really sure about upcharge, I think that when you pay for the upgrade to 3 FDV it's included the switch, cause the shop where I ordered it doesn't talk about switch price
