I wish they had of combined the two circuits into one amp. One thing we saw was the stunning difference in control readability of the Medusa dark amp version versus the silver version.

NAMM 2020, maybe? Just a wild guess.

I can sort of see why that might be over the top control wise, but I expect that down the track that's probably waht we'll see.

I don't typically need to read any of the tiny letters when using the M900, so it doesn't seem so bad?

I guess it depends on one’s familiarity with the controls. As a casual DG amp user (demo only) I enjoyed the Medusa immensely compared to the regular M900.

It depends. Does grabbing the gain when you were trying to adjust the blend spark joy?

I actually like the B7K Ultra better than the AOU for live use.

I'll take what I can get. I read that the next update to the Helix will add the SansAmp Bass Driver and the Ampeg Scrambler Bass Overdrive. Not to mention the Ampeg SVT4Pro amp model to go with the B-15 and classic SVT.

Yup, and Korg USA just bought Spector which will result in a proprietary Tone Capsule on Spector Czech basses.

Yes. The most comments I had from the Medusas versus the silver was about the difference in visibility of the controls. I think the black one will end up selling more than the Silver. Of course, one cant discount the popularity of the AO.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what Korg brings to the table with the DG & Spectors. We had several customers who purchased the TC to install in their Spectors, so it should work out to both company’s advantage.

I’m itching to try the hyper luminal, but they are scarce as hen’s teeth on the used market. I take that as a good sign with pedals, that there’s not many used for sale. Heck, a 15-20% special would get me to move.

It’s nice to anticipate new emulations from Darkglass with the AOU. Kind of a constant freshening up of sounds. I have the Nolly cab settings in there now.

They promise the same for the hyper luminal, more models as time goes on.

Meanwhile, I’m the patient hunter. Content with my Ovnilab Smoothie.

Eyeing the four string NG-2’s, as well.

Edit: Well, I shouldn’t have gone to Darkglass site. Now I want an AO900 and footswitch.... stores up to three cab emulations and allows parameters to be sculpted with the Darkglass suite, including comp settings. Darn it, this feels like gas. Going for a hike to cool off.

Here’s what I know.... which isn’t much.

Just released at NAMM. There is currently only 2 made. 1 gold, 1 white. As far as I know they are both on there way to a dealer in Japan. Normal North American price is currently unknown but I’d speculate around $4500 CAD. that would be a Canadian made one where as a standard production base made in China would be half of that.... again guessing.

Only a privileged few at NAMM will have tried it.
If you spec your own and get in line your looking at 18 months and probably still a year for a Chinese model. Again just going off of hints and history.... not fact.

I believe the body wood is a different standard spec from any other Dingwall and this does set the tone aside from other models.

Happy hunting but be warned..... once you get one Dingwall...... GAS changes to DAS

Canadian models are handmade at the shop in Saskatoon.
More options are available on Canadian models. Woods, cosmetics, electronics.
Also the fit and finish is held to a higher standard as they are not mass produced at a factory in China.

Production models.
Made in China, with limited options. Sent back to the shop in Canada where they are set up and inspected before they are sent out. Still a very high level of quality but not hand built by the A team.

I'd say that the Combustion/NG basses arguably are the highest quality import basses available today. Every single review mentions setup, fret dressing, finish and attention to detail being spot on. It's clear that Dingwall give these basses a lot of love and care before shipping out.
