Just wanted to drop a few clips here, mixing is finally done for two tracks with my band House of Pines!
I used my NG-2 for both of these, along with a Darkglass B7K and Vintage Deluxe respectively, Mesa D800 amp and Bergantino C112 cabs.

All this fretless talk, and John’s clips (sounds great!), have me thinking it’s time to attach the lined fretless SJ5 neck in my closet to something, lol.
I tried after I first bought it used, but it didn’t match up to my SPJ5 neck pocket exactly right. Shape and geometry have changed slightly over time. Think the older fretless neck heel needs to be slightly reshaped for easier fit, and i need a shim to get proper angle to the body. It wasn’t as simple as bolt on, and the project took a back burner. Thanks for the nudge!

You would need to specify whether they are for a Super or an AB/Z. They have completely different pickup dimensions.

Which shell type? Your white SJ (super fatties)or the Brown one(SF2s)?

I'm thinking of converting my brown bass with the 3 newer pickups, to 2 older style Super Fatty's like my white bass.
I believe with that pick up shell you’d have to get SF2s. The new version of the supper fatty.
These are standard on the Sklars but rarely seen in the wild. You may be having to order new direct from Dingwall.

Unfortunately I don’t think that would solve the issue I am having.
The differences in pickup placement, and possibly the shell difference, is making me have to adjust my plucking hand techniques, which I’d rather not do since I switch basses from tune to tune.

My understanding from speaking with the techs up at the factory, is that the older pickups are no longer available from them.
