Not a Super, but you get the idea. The brightness can really surprise you.

Hey guys. Got a couple questions here, wondering if someone knows how to fix or address the issues that I'm having. Just purchased a Dingwall NG3 5-String, and I absolutely LOVE it. Rich B string, equal tonality across all strings, pretty much all the ecstasy one experiences when they play a Dingwall lol.
I noticed recently that I have the adjust the bridge action for my B String waaayy too often, whereas I haven't even touched the action of the others. I use stock Dingwall stainless steel strings, and I've already adjusted the truss rod, so no fret buzz towards the nut (buzzing happens towards the neck/pickups actually). Does everybody run into this occasionally if they like to play on the fifth string often? Or should I be concerned as to what's happening at the bridge?
The other problem I'm having are the pickups. Long story short, whenever I'm playing in the fourth position with all pickups on (bridge + middle in parallel, neck in series), occasionally the volume suddenly drops, and the only solution is to strike my strings hard until it picks up a loud signal for it to start working again.
Any help would be much appreciated. I already reached out to Dingwall, so I thought I could find some solutions here before getting a response back from them.

Best $35 ever. Luminlay is easy to install. I put them in this AB -1 six string. Maybe two hours start to finish, including removing the neck, cleaning, some fret filing, Luminlay install, neck back on, new strings and setup. $35 included one rod of Luminlay ( plenty for a 24 fret bass) the little keychain led light charger, and shipping, plus a few bucks at the hardware for super glue and a couple drill bits.
Just drill out the soft plastic markers, glue in 5mm of Luminlay rod, trim it off flush and repeat. Sand smooth. Luminlay is very soft, easy to sand. The only reason the neck had to come was to get to the upper few dots. Super easy.
I like the bigger diameter solid color, blue dots over the dots with black outer layers.
The Super P has the black outlined dots. The bass came with them.
I got a huge kick out of the glowing dots.
I agree with all of this post, 100%.
I used phosphorescent paint to paint side dots on my gigging bass in 1987, and could not imagine gigging without some sort of glowing side dots on stages that are either dark or at least sometimes dark.
A couple of tough and unusual issues you have.
When you say you have to adjust the B all the time, is that because the bridge is “lowering” itself from vibration? Once your action is set to your satisfaction you really should not have to readjust anything aside from the truss rod given humidity changes, But still not frequently. It there a weird chance that the adjustment screws on your B bridge are loose and or vibrating out of position? If this is the issue a small amount of loctite on the threads could help with that.
2. Are your pick ups stock factory positioned pick ups? What is the spacing between the string and the top of pick up shell? Does this same thing happen on active and passive mode?
Another question that may be related to both. What is your playing style? Aggressive/light?

Well I’m gonna guess a few have been wondering about the new gig bags that come with a Dingwall these days. I have one here and this is what it looks like.
I’m not sure if it’s better built then the Levy’s but the design is pretty solid. I can see why Sheldon switched
When I look at the website and the MSRP on the cases. Time will tell. I think I like it but honestly, ....... I just deleted a rant about outsourcing I think I may save for another thread topic.....

I reckon the gigbags that come with an instrument are just part of the packaging I keep in case I want to sell later.
Wait, is that all Dingwalls now, or is this just the gigbags they're newly putting with the combustions?

Nathan, what are they like where the bass fits in? Do they offer any protection for the bass? How’s the support for the neck?
I’ve been using a Sadowsky and/or an Incase bag for a couple years now
It appears they offer more support then the older Levys. I never loved the fancier levy’s bag with the rain cover. Unless you are 3’ tall you could never walk through a door way they stood so tall due to shoulder strap placement.... or wore it upside down. I preferred the basic black ones for that reason. This one seems to be a step up from the previous black ones with comfort accessories. It also seems very comparatively build to the black ones. Id say the padding inside is a little bit more ridged on the new bag.

I used the gig bags I’ve previously had on a regular basis back and forth to practice and even shows. That said my basses also rode in a safe place like the back seat so hard shell cases haven’t been required. If I one day need it I think I’ll end up with an ENKI.
I got a Mono a few years back, the extra padding keeps the paranoia at bay.
