Dingwall Owners Club

I've owned an ABZ5, then an ABZ6, still have my Super P5, and briefly a v1 Combustion 5. All fantastic instruments. Playing anything else and then playing a Dingwall for me is like driving a full loaded U-haul truck and then getting into a compact car. So easy to play. I just imagine a 4 string DW with light strings strung EADG would have a killer tone and playability.

Still counting the days/weeks/months. Ordered a 10th anniversary Combustion back in January. Was told 12 to 14 month wait time, if I recall correctly.

I am consoling myself by playing the 2 Dingwalls I already have, but the wait is killing me. Slowly.

FYI - I'm selling a black Dingwall leather racing stripes strap for $60 shipped CONUS. Lightly used.

For Sale - Dingwall Leather Strap Racing Stripes - Black

This is a good point by the way : which strap make sense on an afterburner ?
Are the dingwall ones good ? Long enough ?
Should I trust them blindly like for the strings or should I search around a bit ?
I'm rather tall and I like my bass rather low.

As a sidenote I received my ST300 (non-mini) tuner and I'm in love :)

I like a long strap too. 54 to 57 inches is a good range for me.

I bought one of the very first DW straps, and it was several inches short for me. I took the "tail" of the strap to a local shoe repair shop and had them make me a longer one. Cost me 8 bucks or so, and it matched perfectly.

The racing stripe straps go from 37" to 51".

It's a nice strap, but I prefer thinner straps that are more adjustable these days. I'm using vinyl straps from Couch.

Is anyone here familiar with Dingwall wiring?

I got the Kit today, and reading the Diagram, looks super simple, only it tells you to install "clear" wires in certain terminals, the new Pup (neck which will become the bridge) has a twisted black/green (for series) a Red, a white and what almost certainly is the ground (thick tinned bare wire with black tube over it)

There is no "clear" wire. I haven't popped the hood on the bass yet, as I don't have the mindset to install yet.

Anyone have a clue what "clear" is? Is it the signal wires from the pre-amp or am I missing a wire here?

Ah, Popped the hood, those big fat bare wires ARE the "clear" wires.

They didn't leave a whole lot of extra wire, going to have to be careful soldering, need some blue tape first for a split second buffer should I slip and touch the finish.

I'd solder over a terry cloth, if possible. It can take a bigger mistake.

Welllllll the guy I bought my Prima Artist from may sell his Z with super fatties, glock pre, s/p toggles. Very nice looking Z, too. Waiting to hear if he will sell and what his price would be. He's also pretty local to me, so it could go quickly if everything lines up!

I though your prima came from bass shop seattle? I must be getting confused. Sounds like a nice Z. CAn I have your prima? :D

Bass Shop mostly deals in used/consignment gear. I did buy it from there, but, I knew who the original, I believe, or at least owner immediately before me was. I also know he has a pretty nice Z... check this thing out:

He isn't for sure selling, but, we're talking about it.
