Dingwall Owners Club

Dear Dingwall owners!
I'm new to the forum and maybe you guys can help me out!
I've just ordered a black NG3 (4 string) last week. I've been trying to hunt down a black Dingwall 4 string for the last 2 years. These basses are very hard to come by here in europe, so i'm stoked to finally get one in december!

Now, i have a question...
In another forum i saw a post that the 3 pickups can be activated all together in series. However on the Dingwall website i've found these options:
1. bridge
2. bridge / middle
3. bridge / neck
4. neck
So there doesn't seem to be an option where you can active all 3 pickups in series?
Does anyone know if there is an option on the NG3 to activate all 3 pickups simultaneously?

Kind regards!
You are describing the 3X switch. Your NG3 comes with the D-bird switch (All, Middle, Middle+Bridge and Bridge).

Happy Halloween/Samhain, y'all!

I only have one order in now for a Super P 5. I’ve been going back and forth on a x top but it’s a lot of money to spend to have half of it under the pickguard. I’ve not entirely ruled it out still.
Go with a flamed maple top instead of a full on Xtop. They're cheaper and I think it would look good on a Super P.

Allright, Thanks for the info! Than I guess there's some modding that needs to be done haha.

To be honest, try it as is for a few months. The "all on" setting is not for everyone. I personally don't like it and prefer the 3X selector. But... To each their own.

I agree with trying it for a little bit before you do any modding. Personally, I love the "all on" setting, it's my preferred setting live and I ordered all of my incoming domestic Dingwalls with the "all on"(D-Roc/D-Bird) switch. In the studio, I mess around with the other settings, but I almost always default to the "all on" setting, and live, it's all I use.

Seriously, I'd have paid extra to have Dingwall just install a 6-way switch...

I also thought about having them just wire it with all pups on with the s/p switches. Too big of a hit on resale value, even though that isn't a concern.

Indeed. Cut the top out. Fill that part with base wood. boom.

Yeah, don't see that happening. Knowing the efforts it took to do matching pickup covers, an option that isn't offered unless you're getting a Prima Artist.

Now, I certainly don't speak for the shop, but if this isn't an option on Z series I don't see it on Super series...and I really have to wonder if there are potential issues involved with laminating a super-thin veneer of figured top wood to plastic or whatever base layers in that size. That's a lot of real estate.
