Dingwall Owners Club

Having followed this thread long enough Iv@N, it is my understanding that Dingwall basses are worth the wait. Now you need to get a calendar to cross off the months as they pass.
Yeah, I'm not really mad or anything. The idea of an extra 1 1/2 years definitely surprised me, though.
At least I can play my Super J while I wait for the new one ;)

I feel ya. I have a Carl Thompson Semi-Frills Fretless 6 somewhere in his queue. I placed the order January 2019 and do not expect it until maybe sometime between March-May 2020. I've been advised there is a rule to never ask about your instrument until you hear from him. LOL Actually, I placed my order through Brian at The Low End, so Carl will probably advise Brian whenever my build starts.

News: it was 18 months total, not extra. Sheldon himself clarified the issue and there is a serial number :)
Still a bit of a bummer considering that I have a tour right around the initial ETA, but waaaaaaay better than 1 1/2 years extra wait time :D

Today is a good day

That's what I figured. Glad that worked out for ya', my man!

The best thing I did on my custom orders, was forget I had ordered. There were some reminders along the way - when an update email would come through or someone here ask - but for the most part, I put it out of mind and focused on the Dingwalls I had, and playing out.

I'd say that, too, if I had YOUR collection of awesomeness...:eyebrow::eyebrow::eyebrow::eyebrow::D:D:D:D

Don't get me wrong, my NG-3 and D-Bird Standard are fantastic basses and have served me well. We gig all the time. I get, maybe, 4 or 5 weekends off a year, but I'm getting so antsy the closer I get to my incoming builds. I try to put it out of my mind, but knowing that what I've got is great, but what I've got coming is even greater, makes it hard to brush it off. I will soldier on...LOL!

Nope. Haven't gotten one either this time.
I asked to change the neck profile back to a regular Super P neck, because I ordered it with a J-neck, but i doubt something like that would push back the bass 1 1/2 years, haha.
Actually, if you read this page, maybe you will see there could be a very valid reason why changing the neck could actually cause a long delay:

Interesting read! Thanks for sharing :)

I only requested a neck profile change from a SJ profile to the regular SP neck after talking to Sheldon in person at the Guitar Summit in Mannheim.
The woods remained the same.
In any case, I'm getting the bass next year and I'm happy about that :D:thumbsup:

Well, my wait was over as of yesterday.

and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Sheldon and team made exactly the bass I requested. There was a small hiccup a few months back and still delivered an amazing machine in a super fast turnaround.

Yesterday’s NBD!

I’m in love!!

On top of it all.
Under 10lbs for a 6er!

Cool. You'll be busy with this. I'll watch your fretless for a while if you want to send it over. I'll even pay for shipping.

Hey, guys, just curious - is there a Dingwall price list somewhere? Or a configurator-type interface? Was curious to see what some builds would come in at before even considering them.

I remember there used to be a PDF on the Dingwall website in years past, but I can't seem to find it any more.
