No. It’s just that your dealer will have been given a serial number associated with the order when it’s confirmed if I understand correctly. I’m sure if you asked they could tell you what it is.... not that you knowing or not changes anything.
I haven't been given one either, my order was placed in January through a dealer. Didn't get one last time either
for Chinese basses that may not be the case. I think it would be more relevant to Canadian builds.
again, I bet all you would have to do is ask the dealer if they have one.
They probably mostly think of it as similar to invoice number. no real reason to discuss it. More for documentation.
Glad EMoneySC2 got you a price list. One thing to keep in mind, the current price list will, most certainly, become outdated either right before or right after NAMM. The 2018 prices went into effect on 1/25, the 2019 prices launched on 1/21. You'll get a basic, ballpark idea of what some things will cost, but all prices will probably change(i.e. increase).
That's the struggle as a Dingwall buyer, especially this time of year, put in your order now, even though you don't really wanna spend the dough right before Christmas, or wait until next year, when what ya' want'll cost more...decisions, decisions.
That would be my guess as well. I had serial numbers as soon as my order was confirmed.

Yeah. It’s nothing to be concerned about at all IMO...... Unless, your 8 months into a build and find out your another unexplained 18 months out all of a sudden. If the dealer couldn’t produce a serial number I would then say that they didn’t actually place the order 8 months ago .. just guessing but my experience is before Dingwall commissions the build they receive a purchase order from L and M and then follows up with the serial number for that PO.

I'm new to the forum and maybe you guys can help me out!
I've just ordered a black NG3 (4 string) last week. I've been trying to hunt down a black Dingwall 4 string for the last 2 years. These basses are very hard to come by here in europe, so i'm stoked to finally get one in december!
Now, i have a question...
In another forum i saw a post that the 3 pickups can be activated all together in series. However on the Dingwall website i've found these options:
1. bridge
2. bridge / middle
3. bridge / neck
4. neck
So there doesn't seem to be an option where you can active all 3 pickups in series?
Does anyone know if there is an option on the NG3 to activate all 3 pickups simultaneously?

If you have the regular 3x rotary switch you get that pattern, with the dbird switch (easy soldering job to install once you buy the special switch) you get a different set of four including all three on.
If you buy a 6 way switch and wire up one of the schematics I posted (medium complexity soldering) you can have a mix of both.
And these are a direct drop-in replacement? Or is a little drilling required?
