Ah, but how does the tone compare to a Thunderbird (60's, 70's or even Epiphone Vintage Pro), ergonomics and playability aside?
The color was quite a bit more metallic and interesting in-person than I expected. In pictures I thought it was going to be fairly "flat" but it had quite a bit of life and interest to it. You might be surprised when it arrives depending on your tastes.Truth is I'm not a big fan of the NG colors and the silver was the least offensive to me. I'm debating having it refinished in a different color. I'll wait until I form an opinion on how much I like it. If it's definitely a keeper, I may go ahead and have it refinished, change the pickguard and get black bridge, tuners and control knobs.

Sweet. Congrats.
I’d agree and generally speaking found that with any NGs. Pics just really don’t do them justice. That is awesome news. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome aboard and congrats!
I’ve found the same thing about my white NG-2 there’s a slight metallic / shiny tone to the color that makes it have more depth and look much more interesting than a plain white colorI’d agree and generally speaking found that with any NGs. Pics just really don’t do them justice.
Welcome to the club with the DG NG3NG3 Darkglass Special Edition in transit from Calgary to Ottawa. It should complement my SJ5 pretty well, at least until I can score a Z3. Might look for a SP5 w/wenge in the meantime. I absolutely love the blueberry SP on the website.
