on a combustion with a single acting truss rod yes. You can flatten the neck to the point you will loosen the nut off the rod.

I’m new here and didn’t find any results searching so wanted to add a little FYI. My Combustion came setup for G# standard tuning (heavy strings!!). I ordered a new nut from Fretnation and it was a perfect fit and required zero filing. Anyone need to borrow my Stew Mac 5 string file set let me know hahaha.
Not surprised that the replacement nut was already a perfect fit - Jason is an excellent resource for all things bass and especially for Dingwall-related items!
All records were burned up but there's a chance that this bass is one of the first two Primas.

It’s does have “NAMM 93”(or 94, can’t remember) penciled down one the heal of the neck....it’s been years since I’ve had the neck off.
That's the one! 1994, the year of the Northridge quake. The other NAMM Prima had a flame maple top and back and went to Germany which led to distribution in Germany, Switzerland and London. We shared a booth with Ralph Novak. Charlie Hunter was the demo artist for Novak. He blew my mind. I met Lee Sklar at that show. He may have even played your bass.
That’s insane, all these years and I never knew.

Thanks man! There's even more cool stuff coming for 4C... like HYBRID MODE. You can run both Scene & Stomp mode simultaneously on either one signal, or either simultaneously for two signals!

I’ve run TI flats on both Super series and AB’s. Jason at FretNation helped me out with custom sets for the longscale Dingwalls. They sounded great on the AB-1 six string, and I had both B-G and E-C sets on the five string AB-1. I preferred E-C on both the AB-1 and Super PJ five strings. The TI B string is a whopping .136 and not tapered at the ball end.
I’ve got some Payson flats on my AB -1 four string. Very nice strings and close to the TI flat feel. They are made to fit a Dingwall basses so set up is a breeze. I like the sound and feel. They will go right onto the Dbird this weekend for a trial run. I’m very pleased with the Payson string.
I thought the TI flats were just a bit slinkier, more flexible, but I don’t have aside by side comparison.
I always have a set of TI flats for the Super P. I’ll bounce back and forth with flats and rounds. Flats sound awesome on the Super series. The 344 and 345 sets fit just fine, but you might need shorter saddle screws for the huge B string.
I’m kind of a TI Jazz flat fanatic, so the money is never an issue. The first set seemed wicked expensive. After that I was hooked. They last forever, and don’t seem to mind moving from bass to bass.

I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the brighter Payson flats they just mentioned a little earlier in the thread.
