Seems a good way to protect & display great tops... & deal with existing screws/holes .....
although I’ve never had one....
If you use the floating thumb technique with the thumb laid across the strings behind the one being played, it's not hard because your hand is already in an angled relationship to the fan of the bridge. To me, it's harder for a parallel fret bass because I have to consciously put my hand in a position for the floating thumb to be in a vertical orientation (or perpendicular to the strings).
I find no issues with palm muting. I find that the right hand naturally curves just right for the slant of the bridge. Then again, the Z series has individual bridge pieces, doesn't it? That complicates matters somewhat.
This. Using Simandl on electric bass has completely removed any issues with strain for me. It's the one thing my brief stint playing upright helped my electric playing with.
Playing double bass has improved My tone production, intonation on fretless, stamina etc too.
As to that, I had a really bad upright that needed a fretboard level. It produced no good tone whatsoever, haha. You couldn't squeeze good tone out of it if you were the Hulk.
Also, for some reason I have like, really good intonation on fretless, having almost never played one. A lot of my bassist friends have commented on this. I dunno. Fretless for me is like a flowing river; I just let my hands go where the notes are, without having to think about it. I think its because I have a very good relative pitch, being a trained musician.

I was asking about it a while back and now it's finally a reality...I've got my NG2 strung up F# standard. It's...glorious.

I rarely use my left ring finger on electric. This became a liability when I cut the end off(just the tip, it’s healed now) of my middle finger unfortunately. Also, I find myself going into a sort of “modified thumb position” when I get up past the 14th fret or so.
Bass arrived safe and sound today.
First take: The box has Dingwall tape. Cool
Bass was packed very well and in perfect condition
Very nice bag. Even my wife is impressed with it. I actually prefer bags to cases because they seem to take up less room.
The bass is gorgeous. Absolutely flawless.
First play through was stellar. I used my Darkglass MicroTubes 500 and DG212N. The bass just seems to be made for this rig. No other bass dials in as easy as the Dingwall with my DG rig.
It’s articulate, powerful and aggressive. I love it. Instantly impressed.
The fanned frets will take a little getting used to but not a deal breaker.
Overall I am highly impressed and can not wait to get this thing fired up with a band.

I’ve been tempted by the very same bass locally but I just can’t justify the purchase of a 4 string.
it’s such an incredible value for such an amazing sounding instrument.
Right? I think a lot of us are going to be in trouble when the 5 string standards come out...
Been thinking about the 5 string D-roc standard a lot. It is very tempting.
For me, it’s the wood combo and having tried the 4 banger, knowing how good these things sound! I’m trying to be patient for a production super. Assuming they would be a passive offering.
