Maple/maple, standard alder body
Solid color finish that is TBD between Shell Pink or Capri Orange

Basically, everything I want and feel like I need in a long scale Dingwall and nothing more, while maintaining a sort of retro vibe.

Just picked this up this morning. I got my first Dingwall, a Super J, last year. This is a completely different vibe, but that’s why I bought it. I wanted the extra tension on the E string for drop C# tuning. This is everything I hoped it would be. Sounds great in active or passive, has a wide range of tones and the E string tuned to C# sounds massive. I had the chance to a/b it with a 3X Combustion and I preferred the Darkglass preamp over the EMG. Weight is 8.56 lbs. Already planning some mods...

I have same 4 string Combustion and you are so right, it sounds fantastic when I tune it to Eb Drop Db with the stock Dingwall strings. I cant really make, or expect BEAD to work well on same bass, same strings, but that's ok. I just transpose all my Rocksmith BEAD songs to Eb Drop Db in Guitar Pro so I can play on my Dingwall. Limitations, open string C#, the lowest I can go and still sound thunderous.

Nice one, that new gold finish looks fantastic. In fact, the shop has been doing a bunch of gold finishes that are all really amazing these days.

Anyone see a "Black Forest" finish in the public domain yet? I feel like they were announced around the same time.

I go back and forth in my head about this all the time. Matching basses would be neat, but I’ve had this thing for Shell Pink for a long time. And there’s something really appealing about a modern six string in a classic color like Shell Pink that’s hard to quantify.

Just adding my own bias to this conversation: The classic Fender automotive colors that lean more pastel like shell pink, surf green, sonic blue, etc. are some of my absolute favorites. Based on my own preferences alone I vote shell pink.

...but Capri Orange is a dope color too, so...

My one caution on shell pink (and I do like it too), is that I've come across some that had enough yellowing (either added to the color or as clear-coat) that they just looked kind of like creepy human flesh. You don't want that, unless you're a serious Cronenberg fan.

The dealer I bought the Matte Gold NG3 from has one in Black Forest coming in next week. If I had both of them in front of me yesterday, it would have been a really hard decision.

That looks blue or almost dark turquoise to me, where @BurningSkies had one that was most definitely green.

Yeah, it's not the same color. The black forest appears to to have more blue/green with a grey component. Mine is definitely the candy dark green.

I'd go with orange, but that's just me.
