That's one of the reasons the split-P is one of my favorite pickups. It's easy to adjust the response for each string.
So I'm most likely going to pull the trigger on a NG3 or D Roc this week.

Ah gotcha. So they call the actual P pickup a p-tone also? Isn't that the name of the other pickup made to sound like a p-bass? I'm confused lol.No, it’s an FDV. I mean the actual split P-Tone

I think it's easy to confuse, but the shop doesn't refer to the split coil as a P-Tone. It's its own monster.
Dingwall calls their split-P the "FDP". The p-tones are in a single (FD3) shell.

...I across my original “hang tags” from 1995 yesterday. The second one is in bad shape but the final markdown to $1600 is still visible.
The story I was told is that this store had 2 Voodoos. The other one was sold to Jason Newsted at full price...a little while after that the store was trying to move across town to a larger location and very motivated to clear out inventory. I have no way to verify this story but right place/right time for me.

I’m just going to come clean, I’ve been eyeing the Rob Allen basses. I played a RA 32” mouse fretless at a GTG. It was very cool, and so light. The fretted 34” looks pretty cool. Beautiful basses.

Alan (Chef here on TB) has been quietly pointing me in that direction for the fretless hills piezo angle. Really loves his.
I've sadly never played a Rob Allen but I'm consistently impressed by their tone in demos, particularly the fretlesses. That's got to be one of the best piezo sounds out there.
