Hey Dingers, quick question.

How hard would it be to get a different Pickguard for the older version Super J/P 4 (has a control plate)? Do you know of any Pickguard suppliers that have the pattern?

thanks

Some will work from an accurate tracing, others can work from an original. I think the shop redirects to Chandler/pickguard heaven.

My go-to guy is @johnk_10. His work is perfection. Black abalone from WD...

That pickguard is a GREAT choice for that bass: the colors in it absolutely work with the color of the bass, and the abalone finish has an "updated tortoise-shell" vibe that suits the neo-trad vibe of a Super P.

So it turns out Dingwall does do fretless basses after all?

Fretless has always been available, they only discontinued 'full lines' across the fingerboard. You can see it in your picture, they have markers on either side instead.

Yes, it's been on the option list as long as I can remember, though they stopped doing full lines.

@dirkhh , confusion might come from the fact that the only fretless basses are from the shop, not any of the production models. That's why some of us have had conversions done. It's much less of a risk to take a used Combustion/NG and have it done than it is to do a custom build.

Hi fellas I posted a week ago on the Dingwall NG 3 Dingwall which I think had preamp issues. I’m just gonna sell it. The bass plays very well action wise. And tone wise it’s pretty good. I was thinking of listing it for $1100-1200 is that a decent price? I see another bass which Is like to try and purchase ASAP do you guys think it’ll go quick ?

An NG3 for $1200? That's an incredible steal.

That’s several hundred less than the lowest price I’ve ever seen on an NG3.

No it had something I think with the preamp, but I’m just not familiar with how Dingwalls work. And I found something I’ve wanted for a bit and don’t want to lose it. I’ve had several people say I’m underselling it. But I dont wanna lose this Bass. I mean I’ll be honest the bass feels GREAT the action is low and smooth. The tone is great and punchy I’m just not sure how it works electronically. But the other bass that I want came up for sale and I dont wanna lose it.

Right, that one. I do recommend one day trying one that hasn’t been modified so much. I remember seeing it listed and think your probably price around it’s selling point.
