Just string this guy up with the new Payson Medium scales.
Initial Impressions they feel great and sound super saweet. Tension is very comfortable. I’m diggin them.

Whoa I was gone a few days and I come back to find we are entertaining thoughts of production Supers? Yeah I’m completely in for that.

There's been talk and requests and rumors of that since Q&A's many months ago along with headless. :) Who knows what happens.

All I said was:

I dunno about y'all but I'm excited to see what production models are going to be introduced. I know there's been all sorts of allusions by Sheldon in Q&A's etc., to the development of some new imports...so that right now for me is where any energy is for new stuff.
.

People have been saying they'd like 'em for YEARS though, so wish list material.

In the meantime, I'm really digging some of the new aesthetics of the Z's we've been seeing lately.

If you need email contact with Mo for a custom switch let me know. He's the one who's been doing them for Jason at Fret Nation and did the custom work/electronics on my fretless Combustion.
Thanks but I have corresponded with Mo before regarding mods to a Spector. I just didn't want to wait any longer than I already am for my D-Roc. I was just spitballing, and don't want to part with the bass for weeks on end.
"Korean", eh?
Yes, I think this is the best thing they can do for their imports. So long as the quality stays the same. Our relations with Korea are much better than china.

Mo is just sending me the switch. I can install it myself or if incline I could have a local tech do it but it’s not beyond me.
I found his turn around time for my previous work was super quick too.
I brought my neck I sent him south of the border to ship it to him when I was on a trip. We were only gone for a couple days but I swear that neck was coming back just after we got back home. It was actually was faster then I anticipated. If he’s doing electronics you could just send him the body minimizing the shipping costs.

Thanks for the info. At first I'll just play it as I got it and we'll go from there on mods.

My general advice on most things bass or guitar. Get it in your hands and spend time with it and listening to it before moving the furniture around. ;)

Definitely, they are putting out some true art…..that you can play!

I'm all for outsourcing to cheaper countries to bring unit cost down. I was in automotive manufacturing for years and saw first hand, every day you needed supply options for components.

Where I draw the line is intellectual and spiritual property. We must never let the communists get their hands on the "MothMan".......

I'm just waiting for the Mothman to show up on one of those fake [Country That Must Not Be Named] instrument sites...

Hi guys, stopping in to talk about a Newtone set I just put on.

I got a hex core "platinum" set, all standard gauges except for the E which was a .110 so I could tune to drop D in balanced tension.

Well this B string is easily the worst sounding B I've ever used on this bass, I'm sure its the DR effect of more wraps=less clarity but its pretty awful even considering that. Maybe I just got a bad string but it really makes it sound like a .125 on a 34 inch scale type of thud.

The rest of the set sounds really nice to me and it is a nice change from the super bright sets I'm used to, the warmth really seems to help the D and G have some more body.

Maybe just a dud string? What’s it like when in drop tuning vs. standard?
