Having worked quite a bit with companies in both places, I can say with great confidence that they certainly are different, but that neither is automatically "better". Nor is US made or German made automatically better than Chinese made or Korean made.So happy to hear!! Not China. I really hope this factory works out.
At this point, I really hope to find an older AB 6 with certain wood combos to Frankenstein up a bit more so then a new build.
A lot of the dislike of China I don't understand... it often feels very xenophobia-issh to me. I do understand, to an extent, having pride in your own country, but, just because I was born inside one box of lines, doessn't mean my box of lines is inherently better than anyone else.
Since most instruments are made on CNCs (and have been for ages), the lines are blurred even more, and more comes down to the individual company's acceptance and decisions on materials, tolerances, quality check and assurance, and how they handle the inevitable issues that crop up.

We're eagerly waiting![]()
It’s not about emotions/feelings and it’s definitely not directed at common citizens.A lot of the dislike of China I don't understand... it often feels very xenophobia-issh to me. Thank you.In my country they are very heavily investing in lobbying (legally and illegally by the way), and their priority is pushing for a surveillance society here similar to what they have at home.
So no thank you, you're not getting my money and I'm not getting your products, including face recognition and social credit systems.
Yes I know, that also includes some nice basses, oh well I'm sorry I'll have to get the canadian models instead, life is so hard ..
Huh. Dingwall took the facebook post down about the Korean DRoc.
Things on the internet live foreverHuh. I did notice that the description was a bit cryptic and not very fan-fare-ish...though it was up for 20 minutes (I checked back a few times before sharing). Alas, I can't remove my post here now that it's been commented/shared.
The reason why posts about national prejudices and assessments are so challenging is that they are all based on the author's point of view. Being born in one country, now living in a second, and having children that I adopted from a third I kid myself that I am trying to see things a bit more openly, but having immersed myself through a different hobby into the culture of a fourth country (and as part of that having spent a lot of time talking to people who grew up there about their point of view when it comes to the actions of my two home countries), and currently having people from eight different countries work for me and talking to them about their points of view... I have learned that all of this is far more nuanced, and that none of the obvious answers are ever correct.I can’t help but take the bait and I apologize for that.
Well way to go. Look what you started….The reason why posts about national prejudices and assessments are so challenging is that they are all based on the author's point of view. So, yes, I posted "Eh, Korean" above - which was intended to say "oh, look, that's new".
I try really hard not to get involved in these threads because they lead nowhere. Whether it's the constant trash talking of German companies (e.g. in the Spector forum), whether it's the constant trash talking of China, Korea, Indonesia, Mexico..., whether it's the hatred for the US, or France, or whatever else pops up here.
Thanks, mate. I'll own the shame.Well way to go. Look what you started….
We must never let the communists get their hands on the "MothMan".......
