Dingwall Owners Club

Problem is I’m currently in recovery mode after getting my bank account heavily abused by the recent inflation in travel costs. It was a summer of lots of flying and rental cars. Then, I have a couple other projects in mind (NG3 6 in F#, and a combustion 6 I want to get and have defretted) in line before I can start lining up anything custom. I still keep an eye on the used market, and if I’m ever able to swing a used super that appeals to me, I might wreck my current plans.
I have my custom order for april 2022 (i want an ab1 six in f# just cause), and i have a green ng2 5er (soon to be ng3). But i really want a white or yellow ng2/3 4 string. Even a white or yellow six to hold me over (ideally to try a six). I took a risk on ordering the 5 having never touched one… but i love it so much i figure a six will be workable.

my gas is bad.

Gaseous bunch, we are.

I, at least, had two sixes already, when I ordered my NG-3 six. An ESP LTD and a really nice Carvin. I was pretty comfortable with the six strings, but that Dingwall six just plays so much better, my hands just love it.

When I was trying to fill up my spec sheet of my Z2 order, I borrowed a Z3 from a friend of mine so I can have some reference.
I was thinking to have dot inlays to keep the fingerboard clean and save some coins.
But that night when I was going to bed and turned the light off, I just realized that I must get Luminaly Speedo Bar and headstock logo, I'm totally sold.

I know all about it. It isn't why I bought this one, but I love it.

What did you think of the change? Did you go back to standard? The wiring in here is so clean.

I found it a bit too thick and swampy. I ended up moving back to the Bridge/Middle series setting. I also have a bass or two that has neck/bridge series and they're fine too, but the secret is to have the bridge in the equation to balance the deeper stuff.

So you think Neck+bridge series is a winner? Ideally that would be position 4 instead of solo bridge, which I don’t use at all, if that’s possible.

Yeah, Neck/Bridge series and Neck/Bridge parallel are my favorite settings on AB1, Z1 and Combustion models. Though I do like the Neck/Middle series on the NG it has just a little more clarity than the Neck/Bridge series on the others and you can add in a bit of low on the NG to make up for the slightly less bass frequency in the setting.
