Guys, a question regarding necks shape: Does AB series neck profile differ from Z series? I know it's all rather subjective but I've heard Z necks are actually a bit narrower and slimmer front to back? My ABZ neck is quite thin front to back but it has a D shape with quite pronounced shoulders, I generally prefer more rounded C shape necks, that's why asking. Thanks.

Yes. There is a noticeable difference in hand.

BTW. glad your patience with the D roc delivery and the brand worked out well for you.

Yes there is a difference, and it is not a trivial one in the hand. If you like rounder, more C-like shapes, I would almost say the Z neck profile might not be for you.

Shot in the dark here…

Does anyone have an older Ptone pickup they are not using and would be willing to sell?

I’m looking for a Ptone pickup in a shell like the one below:

The last rectangular 5-string P-Tone left the Dingwall shop in 2013.
I know this because I bought it and put it in this bass:
SOLD - Dingwall Afterburner 1.5 [PRICE DROP] | TalkBass.com

After I placed my order, Sheldon D reached out to me to let me know that the pickup had a defect (a void by the treble-side mounting screw about the size of a poppy seed) in the epoxy, and that the only reason they were shipping that way was because it was the last one.

IIRC he offered a percentage off and/or a set of strings thrown in.
When I got the pickup, the defect was tiny - and I had a happy laugh at Dingwall's obsession with sending out perfect products.

Anyhow, the P-Tone is a GREAT addition; I may have also bought one of their last 4-string P-Tone to put in my Z2 shortly after I got the bass.

I still wish they'd do a 6 string PTone.

My new Z was supposed to come with a PTone in the gigbag, so I could A/B it to the FD3 in the neck. It wasn't in the gigbag, but, Dingwall is sending one out ASAP. No big deal, I had a bit of a personal thing go on the past 4 days and only got to play the new Z for about an hour total so far. Work is crazy this week but hoping to eek out ~hr per night the rest of the week. Got some drum things to practice and start tracking, so that may take up all my music time, we'll see.
