On another topic - have anyone heard of an "Afterburner 1 Elite" model? Someone is selling an AB1, and in the comments thread, another person said it's an "ABI Elite". I've never heard of that model before, and a couple searches isn't turning anything up.

I think Ed Roman's shop in Las Vegas had some exclusive quilted top Afterburners. It is possible that they could have been called Elites.

Thanks for that. I wonder how definitive of a title that was. A given title by Ed Roman or an actually title by dingwall?

I think this over priced one here would be a good example?

I never cared much for green finishes, but I've seen some cool ones lately.

I have a vague memory of them being an actual special run or exclusive line, so only the quilt tops available through them, and not just some made up nonsense by Ed roman. I think most of the others around that time were flame tops.

That said, I don't remember where I read that, maybe on the Dingwall forum or on here way back?

I assume the bass is a early ng 2 prototype. Dual pickup but combustion spacing. Laminated pick guard, but painted matching headstock.

or is dingwall expanding into the combustion feature set? I do prefer the solid colours of the ng over the combustion bursts.

I didn't watch the video (can't right now), but, from the preview image it just looks like a early normal Combustion to me (which is what Nolly played before cooking up the NG series).

I got to solo the middle pickup on the new AB through the Reeves/MAS rig last Sunday. Beauty. The Glock sounds perfect 'flat'. I may eventually have to install a six-way pickup selector switch, though - I'm very curious to hear the neck and bridge pickups in series.
its what I’m running right now to my surprise out of my 6 way switch options. It’s bad. Really bad.
