Well, I'll be selling it this summer if you happen to warm up to an extra string. Haha
This is definitely true, nothing cuts like a dingwall.
However there is still the question of why you would not want to make space into the mix for a beautiful bass sound (spector, mtd, whatever).

So yeah, I returned the awesome D-Roc 5 due to it not agreeing with my pandemic-enhanced physique. I didn't want to give up the finish or the ability to solo the middle pickup, and here's what I got delivered today.
It's impossible to photograph in the middle of the winter, and the lowrider paint job on a modern super car is kinda confusing, but boy, does it sparkle. In a nice touch the pickguard is solid black, the carbon fibre texture would have been too busy on this one.

That finish is stunning in person. I’ve seen it on a Droc and owned that exact same bass. Soooo sparkly!

I wanted a sparkly D-roc 5 but there were almost non being sold at all, not in the US or anywhere, so I bought a mint vintage burst one from a TBer and got it a few days ago I can definitely see where youre coming from, the D-rocs slab like body doesn't sit very well with those of us in the rotund category. I had a very lazy 2020 and most of 2021, which destroyed my already husky physique, I'm working on fixing that and have already seen some slight but important results. Maybe aiming to be comfortable with my Droc and any future non contoured body basses will help encourage me to get and stay in better shape. Luckily for me I don't drink so if (or I should say when) I trim down I wont need to worry about a beer belly sticking around

part of my addictions through the 2020s has been mountain biking to get in better shape. This guy is funny…. And relatable.

Are you wearing your D-Roc with the bass on your stomach? Like, with a relatively short strap length? It is super ergonomic to wear your D-Bird / D-Roc at a low height. The bass should balance great on the strap with the neck staying close to your body. Because of the D-Bird I can’t stand the ergonomics of basses that don’t have the neck more vertically aligned like the D-Bird. I’ve got a lot of appreciation for the other Dingwall designs, but the D-Bird/D-Roc ergonomics are superior for me because of this.
I’ve got a belly of my own, but I have zero problems with my D-Bird.
I got lots of love for y’all, but I think some of the D-Bird and D-Roc owners here need to let their hair down, loosen their belts, and have some fun 
I was asking around about cf reinforced necks… and here is what dingwall sales just told me:
1. When did the carbon fibre reinforced necks start with ab1/ab2’s? I saw an ab2 add from 2010 referencing them.
that was the brief life for them in ABII's back then, now the only standard basses with carbon fiber are Z's
(Editors note… and modern ng models from what dingwall told me before).
2. When comparing fd3 and fd3n pickups between ab1 and ng models… are they the same? In not, how are they different? fd3n just made to spec in asia?
FD3N are made overseas to our specs. Materials are different and it might be splitting hairs as to difference but my preference is our in-house made.

I'll give this a like even though I have even less of an idea about what – or, indeed, why – an NFT is.
I’ve got a few basses I have been thinking of selling to fund a custom build. Last week I started playing them all again just to make sure I wouldn’t regret it. One of them was my first gen Combustion 5. I haven’t played it in a few years since other basses have become my go to choices.
I had kinda assumed my flirtation with multiscale had run it’s course and I settled back on my Roscoe and a few short scales… until I played the Dingwall again. I’m still blown away by how good this bass is and how I have neglected it. Needless to say, it’s not going anywhere.
Also, anyone have info on the serial numbers for the first gen Combustions? Mine is 00031, does that mean I have the 31st Combustion built?

My drawing skills aren’t great, but this hopefully gets the point across. Lower the body of the bass and hold the neck closer to your body.
