Dingwall Owners Club

I have a big ol’ Mesa cab right now (Power Diesel Jr. 1-12 & 4-8s), definitely a fan. It’s not easily transported, at least in my car. I don’t quite have a reason to move my cab today as COVID crushed my last collaboration BUT I feel like that could change soon-ish.

I would like to find light weight, good efficiency and of course, the cab has to be tuned to rock that low Dingwall B.

I’m with @retroXvertigo. The entire package of the subway cabs is too good to be true on every aspect(except price perhaps).

A 15 for the super deeps and the Genesis(preacher) voice combined with some 10sor 12s for some attack… look out! The 15s on there own are awesome but coming from a “fridge” I’ve always been partials to add some smaller drivers for immediacy with the faster heavier music.

I promised you all some video (best with headphones, monitors) - Moby killed it on Tuesday. Compliments galore. I love the SF2 pickups in this bass, here I'm using the N+B parallel setting (switches are bypassed, still waiting on new ones). I'm hooked on Dingwall basses, I literally can't put mine down. I need more arms to play them all at once. My custom is a long way from completion, hard to not think about it daily though! :roflmao:

This was "pre-tumble", if you happened to check the Mesa Subway thread. Not Metal BTW. :D

Nice thiccc tone. The snare is also pretty impressive!

Thanks so much!! The snare obviously had a little help from FOH, but our guy definitely knows how to hit one.

Now that I think about it, that's one of the first things I listen for with a new drummer. Do you "play" the snare or just beat it like a drum? No pun intended, lol...

Why home use only? The bass is built to be shown and heard. I play my ABZ in live settings. Next gig at the end of February I’ll play my D-Roc if they don’t cancel events again.

Same here - I don't have a Z3 but would us it live as I use my ABZ5 or C5. If I ended up in a dingy place with multiple bands sharing the space etc, I would perhaps stick to the C5, but otherwise, they're meant to be played and seen :)

I absolutely play any of mine out at shows. At present I get a ton more enjoyment and less pressure/stress from doing my own thing, but, anytime I was playing out before, I had my Dingwalls out. For a long stretch my Prima Artist was my main bass for gigging out. A couple prog/metal bands I was in needed my 6er, which I only have my AB1 6er, which is still a pretty nice build :)

Of course the playing is what we should all strive for. What also catches my attention is the tone of the all-wenge neck. The gritty-growl is similar to the all-wenge neck tone

on the bass our own the EmptyCell assembled which I still happily own. It kinda takes the sting out of never getting an all-wenge neck Dingwall.
